"With a knowledgeable instructor (who actually knows how to instruct), beautiful and spacious facilities, and low rates - this dojo much better than many others I have visited. The Aikido style taught there manages to smoothly integrate the martial nature of the art, and it's peaceful philosophical undertones very nicely. The instructor's knowledge of other arts adds a breadth of experience that adds much to the learning environment. If you're interested in Aikido, this is one of the best places to learn it."
"When I started attending Villa Rica Aikido a year and a half ago, I had been a long time admirer of Aikido, but entirely new to practicing martial arts. From the beginning I felt like I was in good hands. Shihan Gene and the other instructors have a knack for teaching all levels, from the complete beginner to the more advanced students. They strike a good balance between fundamentals of self defense, and the more philosophical aspects of Aikido and martial arts in general. The safety of everyone is always a priority, and I look forward to the stretches and warm-up exercises at the beginning of each class. The instructors, as well as several students, also have experience in other martial arts such as Taekwondo, Karate, Jujitsu and Kenpo, so there are many opportunities to learn far more than Aikido techniques. The dojo is very family friendly, and I often bring along my two children who play while we have class. The people are warm and friendly, and come from all walks of life. As a bonus, the school is a tremendous value. Tuition is considerably less than other martial arts schools in the area, and includes access to a top-notch Taekwondo class that meets the hour before each Aikido class. My six-year old and I started taking the Taekwondo class a few months back and have really enjoyed it. I am grateful to have found a school that challenges me physically & mentally, and helps me to incorporate the philosophy of Aikido into all areas of life."
