"This place seriously deserves to get shut down. There were a few workers there who I really liked but the others sucked. The whole time I was there, I felt so alone and I felt like I wasn’t cared about. I just had the worst experience here. This just built up more of my trauma, I’m not gonna get into what all happened there but it was just hell. I went there a couple months ago but I decided that it would be best to edit my review and be a bit more honest. I just do not recommend this place."
"I have a 23-year-old daughter with bipolar disorder who has been hospitalized more than a dozen times in and around metro Atlanta over the years (and in MD and PA). I have over 17 years of experience with these places as the parent of an adolescent psychiatric patient. My 13-year-old daughter was recently transferred to Anchor from CHOA after an attempted suicide. I had no prior experience with this particular hospital, but I was really pleased with the overall experience. Communication was timely and very clear from the beginning. I received a call when she arrived, a call after intake to approve meds, and everything was explained very well. Everyone that I spoke with was polite and helpful. My daughter thought that Anchor was fairly clean, and she said that the food was really good. She felt that she got everything that she needed during her stay, and I have zero complaints. I felt like the entire process was well-organized compared to other hospitals in the area. Discharge was quick and easy. Paperwork was complete and ready to go when I arrived, and I waited less than 10 minutes for them to bring my daughter out. All of her belongings were returned, and everything was labeled. If I'm being 100% honest, this was probably the best inpatient facility that I've ever dealt with for my children, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them."
"Stay far away at all costs. Zero stars if I could. Had no choice or say and I'm 24 I should have trusted my gut about the facility. Awful experience was falsely accused of stuff I did NOT do. I still have worsened anxiety and PTSD from this facility. I relapsed back into anorexia really bad since it all happened and can't even anymore nurses and doctors there were awful made me cry. Worse facility I've ever experienced this place is inhumane and I don't know why it hasn't been sued for thousands of dollars in damages or shut down yet."
"I attempted to get my son the help he needs with him agreeing to come in to Anchor, there is absolutely no urgency for serious situations. We came in on Monday and returned on Wednesday due to the wait on Monday, and the receptionist stated they only had one person available who did the assessments. The same exact thing happened on Wednesday, no urgency, giving a time frame of an hour wait and waited almost 3 hours after being told there was only one person performing assessments again. At this point my son is very anxious and upset and leaves the facility. They really need to hire more staff since this is considered a "hospital" as the receptionist kept stating due to it being 24 hours. They do not have enough staff and the fact that people are in desperate situations and on edge, they've failed every patient that could have been helped if they had more employees, resources and immediate assistance for more serious cases. This place doesn't deserve 1 star."
"This place was an absolute nightmare. After going through reviews, all i can say is every bit is true. I was there for 5 days. 3.5 hours from home and no one contacted my family or my young children. The facility was filthy and the roommate had an active std and was hiding pills under my mattress and the nurses knew about it and did nothing. I am still traumatized by some of the events that took place during my 5 day stay. Oh and they completely drained my insurance so no more doctor visits for me and my meds are expensive. Meds the hospital put me on. Not only that but they also put another person that was there also on my discharge papers. Get it together and try and maybe help people by listening and understanding. If you don't like your job, let someone else have it! Don't even deserve a 1 star."
