"On June 23, 2023, I Had a routine visit with Mr. Kevin ward nurse practitioner. During this visit, Mr. Ward failed to recognize that my sodium level was seriously low as revealed in a blood test taken on July 12, 2023. In addition he increased the water pills I was taking in an attempt to lower my blood pressure. Fast forward to August 21, 2023 when I suddenly became severely ill, having symptoms of extreme hot flashes, dizziness, nausea, confusion and debilitating fatigue so much so that I was crawling to the bathroom in my home to vomit. In the early morning hours of August 22 my husband called an ambulance and I was taken to the Wellstar emergency room. After being was admitted and test were run, I was diagnosed with hyponatremia, which, in every day language is severely low sodium levels. It took three days for the hospital to regulate my sodium level. The hospital doctors told me that Mr. Ward’s failure to recognize or even treat my low sodium levels indicated in the July 12 blood test was negligent, and he further aggravated this condition via the addition of more water pills. Prior to this illness, I was a strong and healthy 78 year old woman. After being dismissed from the hospital, I have spent three weeks at home, attempting to recover and regain my former strength and energy. Mr. Ward is not only incompetent, he is rude, arrogant and unsympathetic. In this review, I have not even addressed the other unprofessional issues and treatment I received on this June 23 appointment. I can only say I left that appointment feeling confused, depressed and vowed I would never see or trust this inept so called “nurse practitioner” again."
