"Dr. McClemore is a GREAT and knowledgeable doctor. He listens and keeps my husband informed about his SC disease and how to stay healthy and stay active despite having the disease."
"I always have a great experience when I come here. They do a great job with managing my pain & keeping me hydrated. I would request that they get Ice in this department though. It’s always good to have cold water to drink."
"Anyone with a close family member or that has sickle cell understands the difficulty of getting treatment at a traditional emergency care facility. Generally the staff may not be that familiar with the SS and they will not understand what is needed to manage the pain. This facility is designed to manage the pain of a crisis if needed and provided regular care and check ups to individuals who have SS. I was able to make a completed 180 and get back on track after the acute care I received here. Pain was managed, IV fluids to get me rehydrated, chest scan, EKG, blood cultures, and a full panel run on to see what underlying issues could be present. I was negative for RSV, Covid, Flu and Strep but the doctor prescribed a Zpak just in case and that squashed the respiratory infection I had. After being laid up for 2 weeks the Zpak crushed the infection in 2 days. Relative to any other hospital I personally feel you will not receive better care oriented towards treating SS and I am glad this facility exits here in Atlanta. If you are going in for acute care I would recommend bringing a bag with food, snacks a charger etc. to stay comfortable as would for any overnight stay."
"I’m not sure why they are considered the nations best. Appointments are far and few in between and the two times I attempted to do a walk in visit there was laterally no staff at all not even anyone at the front desk. This was pre-pandemic."
"Place almost killed me, I would never send my dog back to that place. Horrible to even say they specialize in sickle cell."
