"As a veteran who recently had a C&P exam for a supplemental disability claim, I have never in the thirty years I have been seen by an outside contractor had more issues than with this organizations staff in Huntington, WV. Firstly, I was seen for cancer. I wasn't sent to an Oncologist, a cardiothoracic specialist, or a general practitioner. I was examined by a Nurse Practitioner. Okay, if she had been an Oncology or cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner, this would have made sense, but She was a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. She is probably very competent working with normal medicine, but there is nothing normal about cancer. I can say the C&P examiner was very professional, but obviously out of her league. Good grief, I knew more about my type of cancer, the tests required, the surgery and the C&P process than they did. Secondly, I was interviewed, there were no CT's, X-Rays, or MRI's done. I would have expected an FEV FIV test since my last one was pre-surgery. It is not going to be remotely the same after half of my right lung was removed in surgery. That in itself is negligent. THEN they have been calling ME asking ME to get information that they should be requesting through the VA regional office and their Parent Company, Optum. I have had to call the VA and Optum numerous times regarding the lack of progress and requests for ME to get information that is their job to obtain. VETERANS... a little know fact, you can request your C&P exam to be done through VA doctors. I HIGHLY recommend this. Optum is a decent company, IMA? If I could give one no stars I would."
