"We visited Chateau Elan while in Brazelton Ga. It was off season middle of the week & was not busy. Friendly staff nice place to visit. We scheduled a tour of the facility and there were only 5 of us total. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable however… I felt like we got the shorted tour because our group was small. The tour entailed going out to the place they make wine and watch a man clean the floor while our tour guide filled us in on the history and wine making details. To be fair they were getting ready to make some changes but I felt like they should have informed our group of this. Plus another part of the tour was not given because a group reserved that room. Again this should have been communicated before hand. We did not go outside because our guide felt like it was too cold… we sat outside before our tour and while it was a little breezy it would have been fine. Finally we get to the wine tasting and the room they took us to looked like they just threw up a table placed some glasses on the table with no chairs. I don’t mind standing but this part of the tour was almost an hour. Finally a gentleman asked for a chair for his wife and then everyone else said they wanted a chair as well. So we got chairs from the other room. Overall it was informative, tour guide was knowledgeable and very personable however felt like we got the reader’s digest version tour because our group was smaller. The overall experience was okay. That said it is a spectacular place."
"We went for a day night and to meet some friends. We always have a good time considering the ladies at the front desk of the tasting room ALWAYS seem to have an attitude and are really rude! Be aware of the time you go as there is always a line to get your 3oz tasting one at a time. But it's worth the wait and you can ask for a double. You get 7. They are now charging 18% gratuity off the top when you pay. That's the new thing these days I guess. The rooms are nice and they offer Groupon deals for them, there is a shuttle that takes you back and forth. But there are a couple of other hotels right next to the property too that are a tad bit cheaper. The bar in the hotel, great atmosphere, good food, we ordered crab cakes and pizza and burgers and good drinks, but the wine selection is very limited, weird being that it is the Winery. I would think that this would be the time that you would allow your guest to try whatever you have to offer. But who am I? I would definitely go back oh amd get there early enough as the wine tasting stops at 8."
"I’m so tired from the horrible experience. It was our 10 year anniversary. Horrible room. Dirty towels and linens. The toilet seat wasn’t bolted to the floor. Dusty. For a 4 star hotel they gave us paper cups for coffee??? The mini bar had liquor but no cups. Maybe you rinse out the paper coffee cup? The hotel doesn’t seem well maintained as there was paint peeling in hallways and floors hadn’t been vacuumed. We took the serenity walk and there is trash all along the walk. I guess no one walks the grounds to ensure cleanliness. The spa is ridiculously overpriced especially given the view from the pool was trash bags and we had to ask for towels. The hot tub had dirt in it. The ladies steam room didn’t work. They did comp one night but honestly nothing could have saved this weekend. We almost felt like we were being punked. When I mentioned to the front desk manager that I would love a coffee cup he sent every glass BUT a coffee cup. Just felt like a slap in the face. We. Will. Never. Return *update. I have read Chateau’s response and it seems to be the same canned response to all negative reviews. Instead of saying “not our normal level of service perhaps find the root cause and make corrections. As I stated in my original review we will never return."
"We attended the New Year's Party last year and this year. Happy to say last year was AMAZING to welcome 2023! We love Chateau Elan and the divine experience it delivers with each visit. Unfortunately, this year's party to bring in 2024 appeared to be "thrown together on a low budget!" When you are spending nearly $2000 per couple, you don't expect to wait in line for a self-serve buffet. The food in most stations were too spicy and did not taste good. There were lots of wasted food thrown away on plates. The band was not the greatest this year. Another concern was after dinner, the easy access to the ballroom for people who appeared not to have paid for the event. We were so excited to attend the Gala and truly look forward to it all year. This was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT to ring in the New Year 2024!!"
"If I could give this 0 stars I would mainly because of the service my husband and I received. My husband took me here the weekend before Christmas for my birthday. However, in my very humble opinion, I feel service was lacking due to the complexion of our skin. We saw others receive top notch attention and service while we received the bare minimum and it was like that nearly everywhere we went. We did wine tasting, spa, and went to 3 restaurants/bars. After leaving, my husband told me he had requested a very special birthday setup at one of the restaurants (specified he didn’t mind paying extra) and they didn’t do one thing he asked. They also set us at the smallest table it seems. I’m upset because the pictures on the website of the restaurant point out where they have made desserts with “happy anniversary” or “happy birthday” on it. We didn’t even get that. Also, the waiter kept calling us “folks” which I thought was very rude. There were some good moments sprinkled throughout but for the money we spent we could have been treated better. Will never spend any money here ever again. That’s just my experience."
