Hyatt Place Atlanta Airport-South

"First: Great location for access to the airport or convention center. Also only 15 minutes from downtown approximately. Second: This is only a category 1 Hyatt. So make sure to adjust your expectations. Third: Hotel customer service is horrible. Hotel is currently (January 2024)under major renovation. Its extremely dirty and smelly from all the construction materials. We were on a renovated floor and it stank really, really bad. It was better in the room but the hallway was almost unbearable. This hotel is very, very unclean. No vacuum was used in our room, found so much on the carpet it was obvious. Also no counter tops were wiped as we found suger crystals all over one, and other types of marks that showed no cleaning had been done. Sheets were clean and new mattress. Rooms were typical for a Hyatt Place, but the contractor did extremely poor work with grout falling out, bad drywall work, and painting that was obviously done with little care. We also were missing a shower head in one of the rooms. Breakfast was ok, but felt dirty...maybe because of the rest of the hotel."

"I am a road warrior and a Globalist with Hyatt as well as a top tier with other major hotel loyalty programs. I was aware that the hotel was under renovation. When I checked in, I was given a newly renovated room on the 6th floor. While the rooms are essentially semi-renovated (lots of the very old-style Hyatt place present like bathroom, sink/vanity, bed headboard and kitchenette cabinet/sink, but new style carpet and sofa + desk as well as tv) they are acceptable and still nice, and I didn’t have an issue with some old cabinetry and furniture being reused in their “remodel.” No issue with the hotel being under construction, no issue with the semi-remodeled rooms. However, just as lots of other reviews mention, cleanliness was very lacking and very simple things were left lackluster and unattended to. After checking into the room, despite it being a renovated room, I found cat kibble all over the carpet as well as m&m’s. All that would have taken was a simple 2-3min vacuum. In the morning, breakfast area was missing tongs everywhere. Had to literally grab a bagel by hand, as well as fruit. Milk options were not labeled at all, although I am already familiar with oat milk and regular milk colors at Hyatt place’s. Lots of other things typically present at breakfast are not there… such as tea. Immediately after breakfast, I had sores break out in my mouth. Don’t know if it’s the staff that is performing poorly or if it is management, or potentially both. But such deficiencies to me were unacceptable given how easily they can be attended to and that’s the reason for my rating. If they don’t care to attend to such simple things, I can only imagine what “more” goes on that I didn’t see in the back of that breakfast room in terms of cleanliness… honestly unacceptable. Had it not been for that I would have probably given the property at least 4 stars. There is lots of noise from planes constantly taking off in case you are a light sleeper…"

"I just checked out of this hotel today. My stay was for 5 days. I was in town for work purposes. The parking was free for those with rooms. For entry and exit, you need to swipe your room key. For others who wish to park, you must pay a fee. The hotel is currently under renovation. Due to this, the restaurant is unavailable. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. After reading the reviews and looking on the website, I thought that I would enjoy my stay here. I was highly disappointed at the cleanliness of my room and the hallways. My coworkers shared my sentiments. The lobby and breakfast area were clean. Everything else was very subpar with regards to cleanliness. See my comments below."

"Wonderful location, quick drive to the airport. Convenient to get on and off. Loved that I could check in and out through my app and get my room key through my app so I didn't even need to bother with the front desk when I arrived late. I was even able to park out back and get in the back door with my phone/key and head straight up to my room. A godsend after a long day on the road and getting in late with a red-eye in the morning. The room was lovely (king suite). I only wish I had more time to enjoy it. Bed was comfortable."

"We were in town for a conference being held at this hotel. The service/workers were very nice/hospitable. The hotel and room were pretty decent. The location is near the airport, yet it was a pretty quiet/decent area. The breakfast options each day weren't bad. I'd recommend this property if you're in the area."
