Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ooltewah Springs-Chattanooga, an IHG Hotel

"We didn't stay - the man at front desk only offered us suites when we looked online and regular rooms available for less. We went next door to the Hampton Inn - they will get a 5 start review from us. I'm so disappointed since holiday inn express is our go to some traveling. This was an embarrassing up sale and I'm not sure why he felt he needed to do that."

"I requested and received a quiet room on a high floor. The room was clean, no carpeting which is healthier, the bed was very comfortable, a selection of firm and soft pillows were available, plenty of towels in the bathroom, shampoo/conditioner/lotions/bar soaps were available, the microwave and mini-fridge were operational, single serving coffee maker & tea were provided, and the heat/AC worked properly. Plenty of television channels available, I just wish the TV guide option was available, but I've noticed it's not available in many hotel brands. I have no complaints about the room comfort and amenities. (Toilet paper holder was coming loose from the wall, but it was there and working). The breakfast included hot egg & cheese omelets, bacon, turkey sausage, a variety of breads, cinnamon rolls, cereals, yogurt, coffee/decaf, and so on. Enough to meet your dietary needs, fill you up, and more. The breakfast room staff and the front desk staff acknowledged me when we crossed paths, and they were friendly and helpful. The common area off the reception area was comfortable, and had a large TV if you wanted to watch away from your room. This was an enjoyable stay, and I will return when in the area"

"It had been a while since we stayed at a Holiday Inn. Was very satisfied and impressed. Very clean and updated hotel, hot breakfast was good as well."

"We've stayed at this Holiday Inn a few times but this time was the first we had issues. Hot water - took almost 10 minutes to get hot water out of the sink and shower faucets only if you ran the water. I felt bad wasting so much but I couldn't pay for cold shower. Thermostat- our Thermostat worked when it wanted to so we ended up turning it completely off. Dogs- a guest next door left their dog locked up in the room and it barked randomly throughout the day and night. We complained but nothing came of it. Disappointed the guest wasn't removed from the hotel but we also should've requested to move rooms. Won't do it again! Staff were very nice and I liked some of the upgrades they've done since our last visit. Unfortunately the negative outweighed the positive this time. We'll have to think twice about staying next trip. UPDATE: Within 48 hours we received a response from the hotel, addressing our concerns and an apology. For that I am changing my updating my service stars to 5!"

"Always check your room filters! They needed cleaned- it was late in the PM so I cleaned ours myself. Not perfect, but better. The room itself was clean. Clean linens. Comfortable bed. No noise. No late night carousing by neighbors so my SD did not bark once."
