"I was actually a little disappointed when we got there and a gate was closed on the beach and playground. This was our first ever trip. So we turned around went up to the little play ground and pavilion. I was a bit disappointed in the amount of graffiti on the pavilion. I hate people doing that. We drove back down to the main day use area and that’s when I realized the gate didn’t open til 10 am, which it now was. So my kids and I went down to the playground. That’s when I read the history of the place and that made me have a whole new outlook on it. I LOVE seeing old photos of a place that I’m at and that was really cool to see those on the sign. I think the swing set might be the same one from the picture. I do wish there was able to be a little more money put into the upkeep, like the broken swings, but regardless, it was a nice little park with lots of great history."

"Absolutely love it here. So beautiful and secluded, not many people know of the place. The building is so nice and beautiful inside . Huge as well . Private beach and small park for the kids , swing sets and even a boat ramp with a dock. Absolutely beautiful here. Great family place, the kids love it!"

"Certainly has a lot of picnic tables! About 30 to be exact, plus more under the pavilion with a few grills on the grounds as well. Swing sets and a playground for kids are present just above the boat dock, boat ramp, beach, and swimming area. In the center overlooking the lake is an enclosed events facility that can be rented to accommodate a wide variety of gatherings. On the side of this building are restrooms and showers. A $5 daily fee for boat ramp parking is posted. This park has a great historical background as well. Founded in 1950 by Tuskegee Airman John Atkinson upon returning from WW2, it became the summer home of St. John's Ski Bees ski club and hosted live musical concerts by rock n roll legends such as Little Richard and Ray Charles."

"Basic day use area on the shores of lake Allatoona with a small sand beach, play ground, pavilion and recreation room. Restrooms available. The park has hundreds of wooded acres to explore. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes to protect yourself from the large amount of broken glass found in some areas. There is a $5.00 day use fee per vehicle to park at the beach and day use area. To avoid the fee it is possible to park just outside the fee gates at the baseball fields and walk in, especially if you are there to hike instead of using the beach area. Here is my 6 year old son's review: " 5 stars. This place has everything a boy needs - a lake with beach to play on and fish to catch, and woods to roam in"."

"Quiet. Clean. Historic. I felt a sense of respect. Boat launch, trailer parking. It wsd $5 for admission, I went on a weekend mid to late afternoon, around 3p."
