"This is a nice park close to Rome. It's great for a quick camping trip. The first site I was in was difficult to reach the electric panel. It was in the mud on a steep hill. I ended up requesting to move to a flatter site. It was no problem since it was January and the campsites were mostly empty. There is a dump station in the camping area and a dumpster. It was very cool and I didn't get to explore the whole park. I will be making another trip in the spring."
"Stayed over Christmas holiday. The area itself is very nice the walking trails are great for your furry Friends. The sites are spacious but the trees are plenty. There are no signs to should you what way to go. This would be helpful at 10pm. Other then that happy with the site we have. Nice and quiet here. Wish they would mark the drive with arrows or a sign posted on a tree."
"We stayed 7 nights at site #3, is a back-in, was pretty leveled, only needed a few adjustments, there's a tree in front so I had to maneuver to get my trailer where I want it, lol. I loved having a covered sitting area on the site! We were under branches of a nut tree, every time a nut fell on our roof, we would jump, it was pretty loud and I'm hard of hearing, drove me nuts, lol!. The place was pretty empty, only a few campers so it was very nice, quiet and relaxing! The staff was friendly and helpful, the place has some beautiful views! We hiked both trails and enjoy them with my dogs! We have AT&T and T-Mobile and had excellent signal in both at all times! We camped at Lock and Dam Park in a Travel Trailer."
"It's a family place. Well kept. The bathrooms were clean and the kids loved the playgrounds. We visited for a day and caught about a dozen striper and white bass. We will definitely be back to try out a camp ground."
"This was a nice little park and campground area with a good hiking trail. The park has multiple playgrounds that look cool (didn't have my son with me). The lock itself is no longer functioning, but makes a cool little overlook to the river and apparently a good fishing spot. The campground had spots right along the water, and some back in the woods. They all looked nice. Really, we were here for the hiking trail. The trail isn't super challenging, mostly smooth paths with slight inclines here and there. The path is wide and easy enough to follow. The map they provide is not very good, and there are very few markings along the path, so it wouldn't be hard to get turned around, but since it's mostly a big circle, you shouldn't be able to get lost. There's also an overlook point that has some nice views and a bench and small picnic table. One thing we really liked is that they had the roots that stuck up along the path marked with bright orange paint. Helped make sure you didn't trip or get your foot caught, which was cool."
