"My first time dining here and I would've given it 5 stars has it not been for me waiting over 40 min for the sweet potatoe souffle that I has already paid for only to be told when I asked what was taking it so long that the cook has burned it but that he could put me another one in the oven. Not only was this not told to me the 1st time to see if I wanted something else but the fact that he "could" put in the oven meant that it wasn't already in there and what? I just wasn't gonna get anything? Aside from this hiccup, the food was great, the music was great (a little too loud but great) and our server, Alanis, was amazing and very apologetic about the mishap with the souffle. I asked her to just bring another order of collards instead and she did. While on the subject of collards, these are sweet AND spicy (very spicy). Although I don't mind sweet greens since I will put a tablespoon in my own greens at home OR eat them with sweet cornbread but I wasn't expecting them to be so sweet. A little too sweet but still good enough to get a 2nd order of them! Also, they were red so maybe tomatoe braised? Not sure but they were absolutely delicious! The fried chicken wings were hot and well seasoned. I also has the Mac n Cheese and although cheesy, it wasn't as seasoned as I'd like it but it still good. I got the Blueberry lemonade because the reviews raved about it, but it wasn't worth paying an extra $3 for it as opposed to getting a soda as it was simply lemonade with blue coloring and 3 blue berries dropped in. It actually tasted more like Kool aid and was entirely too sweet so I didn't get "lemonade" from it at all. But it's Black owned, clean, the food and the service was astounding so I'll definitely drive the 45 minutes to go spend my money there (hopefully while Alanis is working) and I recommend it."
"The blueberry lemonade is really good, catfish was fresh and tasty. However my grits were stiff. Servers are not friendly at all."
"This place was AWESOME! My family decided to go somewhere to eat after my daughter's graduation from the University of West Georgia. We live in Atlanta, so we wanted to stop somewhere on the way home. We found this place by googling 'restaurants in Douglasville', and we are so glad we did. They made accommodations for 15 of us with no problem. The food was soooo good!! There was not a complaint about ANYTHING we ordered! Everyone there was very friendly and personable. The owner even came out and congratulated my daughter and thanked us for coming. My 92-year-old father has not stopped talking about the food. I told him we will definitely be making a 'field trip' to Douglasville for another meal. I pray that God blesses this restaurant with much success!"
"The food was fantastic. We had three people dining in for brunch and we all ordered different food and shred. We got the chicken and waffles, shrimp po boy, the burger, side of fries, grits, and Mac and cheese. All of it was fantastic. Service was slow but I assume it’s because they must make everything fresh to order. We were there an hour before we received our food. The wait probably made us enjoy it even more. We also had the mimosas (mango, pineapple, and peach) they were all really good, pineapple was probably our favorite though. Saw everyone getting little cornbread loaves. We were never offered any not sure if they were supposed to be complementary or if everyone knew to order them but us. We were charged $3 each for water that was brought to us that we didn’t ask for. As a person who has worked in the food industry a long time, I personally wouldn’t do that in case the person you are serving is working with a budget. Overall, I would return for the food but as for someone going for the first time my advise is refuse the water if you don’t need it, ask about the corn bread, and be prepared for a wait. After tip our bill came to $65 per person."
"First time here. 5 of us ordered multiple items. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Will return for the fried catfish, Brussels, grits!!! Not a fan of the Sweet Potatoes. Will definitely return for the grits!! And try the blueberry lemonade!"
