"I wanted to get tie rods, ball joints, and upper control arms replaced on my gmc envoy, they would do the work because he said my parts are cheap and didn't what there name on it, I ask him to give e me a quote for there parts and labor, he quotes me 3000 dollars, and I called there supplier and those parts are made in China also, beware of this business, there not in the business of repairing cars, there in the business in ripping people off, I miss women's garage, he was honest and great with his customers, wish I could say the same of words auto"
"I have had a lot of issues with them. First I had my ball joints replaced well 6 months later the left ball joint went bad again. So I called them up and they said they will fix it for only $110 I thought that was fair well when they got don't it was $600. Then I spent $1'000 to get the gasket fixed on my Chevy Cruze because that's what they said was wrong. Well found out it was just the oil Lid. And lot more stuff than this. Just be advised if they quote you $500 then times it by 3 . Just a rip off place. Go to River City tires in the west end They will take care of you without ripping you off. Since I've been going to them. When they fix something it's for a fair price. And you don't have to go back and get it fixed again and have to pay for it."
"Roger and his crew at Ward's Automotive are fast, kind, AND honest! My car recently broke down and Ward's was truly the only shop willing and able to repair it (I thought my clutch blew, but they informed me that only the axle needed replaced, and for $1000 less than what the clutch would've cost! You cannot find honesty like that anywhere, especially at a dealership - & no other place around is willing/able to even look at Honda clutches!). Knowing I didn't have another transportation option, they got the job done in impressive time and let me know as soon as it was ready. I'm so grateful to Ward's and would highly recommend them for any repairs & maintenance work. They went above and beyond! They made what should've been a stressful situation so much easier on me and charged me a very fair price! I will be returning!"
"I called to get a quote on an alignment and was asked the make and model of my car. After giving the information I was quoted a price of $69.99. This was about $20 cheaper than the price at the dealership so I went ahead and made an appointment. At no time was I told of any additional charges. I show up for my appointment and waited for over an hour for the work to be done. No big deal. At no point did I ever leave the waiting room. Again, I was still not told of any additional charges until the work was done and then I was told there was an additional $35 charge for a “code link reset”. I argued that I should have been told of any possibility of additional charges at the time of scheduling or before the work was done as I could have had all this done at the dealership for a much cheaper price and without hidden costs. The guy gave me a whopping $5 off. Just another garage taking advantage of their female customers by adding costs and services without consulting them so they have no choice but to pay. I will NOT be going back."
"It was time for a timing belt and water pump. Ward's came recommended by my retired local mechanic. They had the work done early and used quality parts from Napa. The cons to the job are small fasteners were broken and wires were slightly misplaced which I reattached. The radiator hose is rubbing the fan shroud and one month later the radiator needs replacing due to a crack in the top next to the cap. This may be circumstantial as I have 252,000 miles on the original radiator. I have a 24-month warranty on the parts."
