"The food reminded me of cafeteria food. I did not like it at all. I had some corn bread, the smoked sausage, chicken fried steak, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes. I didn’t like any of it. Slow service, they were out of certain foods…just nothing impressive about this place. I would not recommend."

"Pick any location for Lizard’s Thicket and you can be certain this local, family-owned chain will serve you excellent food you will enjoy, and in a friendly atmosphere. This is firmly a Columbia area staple. Do you like Cracker Barrel ? Then I tell you to forget that place right now. Lizard’s Thicket has much better food, and doesn’t have the “tourist trap” surrounding the checkout, plus it’s cheaper. I like the beef stew over rice and the vegetable beef soup the best. The collards are real. Try the squash casserole. I can also recommend the country fried steak. It’s Lizard’s Thicket for me any day of the week, hands down, final answer. Go enjoy it."

"In an unfamiliar place, many places closed on Sundays. Saw the Lizard Thicket and we're glad we did!! Service was friendly and thoughtful! Food was like grandma's and served piping hot. What a find!!"
