"You would never know there was a wonderful nursery on E. Stone Avenue, whizzing by rather rapidly most of the time, right in the middle of the city. I never noticed the sign! I needed to block a newly created "not so good" view from my house, and I needed a couple of good size, rather fast growing trees. Someone from the city told me about it, so I went and didn't see much pulling into the parking lot. I walked toward the fence and I heard a friendly voice say "hello". He invited me to come through the back entrance, and was I ever surprised to see a beautiful display of beautiful, healthy, trees, shrubs, decorative, and flower plants! This is all down a hill from the street, that you don't see. Michael, the nice owner of the nursery for over 20 years, recommended dwarf magnolias for my purpose. He took me past some gorgeous flowering plants, to rows of about 10' trees. He pulled out different big 15 gal. containers of Little Gem Magnolias for me to look at. I chose two very fine specimens. Michael has a regular "installer", who will pick them up, deliver, and plant them at your house, for a reasonable fee. The trees look great at their new home, and I am a very happy man. Both Michael and Juan were very nice to work with, and I highly recommend this gem in the middle of the city before going to the "big box" stores! UPDATE: It is now 4 years later and these two magnolias are magnificent specimens. They have survived heavy snow in the winter making the limbs sag, and they have endured full sun. I could tell they were extremely healthy trees when I originally looked at them. I couldn't be happier with purchasing these magnolias from Stone Avenue Nursery. I highly recommend this business."
