"Very thorough, knowledgeable, and caring doctor"
"We've been with Pediatric Associates for 25 yrs. Our kids have seen Dr. Glenn and, for the last decade or so, Dr Beavers. Today I called to make my youngest daughter, 16, an appt with the only Dr. she's ever known. We suspect she may have ADHD. It's a big deal. Dr. Beavers had an available appt at 10:15 the very next day and we were also available! Everything seemed fine until the receptionist realized we have Medicaid. You see, we get our shots at the health dept. My daughter is fully up to date but since she hasn't been sick but once in 3 yrs with a 24 hr stomach bug, we've had no reason to her physicians. Today, we learned if you haven't visited yearly, you aren't their patient anymore. If you have Medicaid, you can't even pay for the "new patient" visit in cash. So, we have no way to see her Dr. The receptionist asked if I'd like to speak to her supervisor, which turned out to be a numbered voice mail with no human message and no return call. 25 yrs. All of our kids have seen these Drs. We are devastated. We don't really know what to do. If I'd known this was their policy, I'd have just brought her yearly and had a check up. I think it's silly, but I would have done it. This treatment feels hard and frankly, discriminatory. Medicaid is the only insurance treated this way and my 16 yr old needs her doctors. It's a bad policy."
