"I really want to like this hotel, but do not think I will stay here again. It is a very old building, great location, beautiful updates. The bed was like a rock and so were the king size pillows, so not very comfortable at all. No chair or chaise to sit on. No table for your food or to put your computer. Some strange little plastic sofa to sit on. Bad first impression: I show up, and was told by valet/front desk person to park in the alley way. I drive back there and every parking space is listed as private and towaway. I parked there. As I am dragging my luggage into the building, I run into a young lady who asks me for my keys and tells me she can valet park my car in the garage across the street. I said okay. The two employees obviously don't talk to each other because they didn't seem to know what the other was telling me. I paid for parking as part of the stay. The young man at the desk kept telling me he was an intern. I was not offered an upgrade (and I am a Diamond member) and my room's view was of the roof across the street. The restaurant was closed on a Monday night when I arrived, so had to get Uber eats food delivered. For breakfast the next day, the young lady in the restaurant (who was very sweet and helpful) told me she was an intern as well. Never saw one management person in the two days I was there. I think that the staff could benefit from training and having more seasoned staff if you can find them. When I checked out, I really enjoyed interacting with Zachary, who does seem to be very sharp. The breakfast and lunch I had in the restaurant were good. The glass of sparkling wine at check-in is a nice touch. I have been in Hiltons all over the globe and this one needs some work."
"Great place with one big caveat: they will not let you charge food and beverage to the room therefore if you are a Hilton Honors member you will not get points for all those purchases. The staff told us that they used to charge to the room before they became Hilton Curio branded so I can only surmise that they stopped allowing it to avoid granting the additional points. But regardless the motive, it's annoying especially since the on site bars and restaurants are nice and they definitely would have kept more of our dollars in house without the policy. They also have annoying limitations on how the F&B vouchers they gave for Diamond Status can be used so we ended up with some left over at the end of our 4 night stay. Other than that the property is fantastic and in a great location. Rooms are small but that is expected in a historic building. Staff was by and large great but we did experience some service hiccups. Sadly we will look to stay elsewhere next time in Savannah due to the F&B situations mentioned above."
"This hotel is customer service is outstanding, the best customer service I’ve received in a long time. The hotel is located in a perfect spot less than a five minute walk away from River Street. You have a beautiful view outside your window. Very inexpensive parking in the parking garage right across the street. The only negative was the rooms are a little small not enough space to walk around. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I plan to stay there every time I come down to visit family in Savannah."
"I had a wonderful two night stay at the Drayton. The hotel is in an excellent location and central to where I needed to be. My room was a beautiful corner room with a lovely bathroom. I was a bit confused about the Hilton Diamond benefits so, I wish that had been explained better. For Diamond, you receive $25 per room for each night of your stay (can’t be used on day of checkout) and the breakfast is complimentary. The service at the hotel was wonderful, especially at breakfast. The breakfast was good but wish it was a bit more creative than your typical breakfast. The hotel is incredible value for the location, service, and hard product and I highly recommend you stay here during your stay in Savannah. PS I heard the restaurant is excellent for dinner but it was closed during my stay."
"The design of this place is great and everything in the rooms was delightful. The beds are very comfortable and I have a bad back so that’s a highlight! The staff was all lovely and the young woman at the front desk was a doll when I mentioned I’d lost an earring. My only issues were that there was nowhere to pull your car in to unload luggage so you’re doing that in a turn lane. Thankfully there wasn’t much traffic when we were there but it was a little sketchy. Overall a great boutique hotel in a lovely spot!"
