"This office was my primary care physician for a number of years while working and covered by the corporation i worked for. Then I got laid off and enlisted Obama care. He refused to see me and honor Obama care. What a d!? K republican move. Dropped me like a lead rock."
"Very nice staff. Hard to get in contact or call back. Difficult getting refills, even when you have an upcoming appointment. Wait for days or weeks to get refills approved or sent in. Clean office, sufficient wait times"
"Dr. Youmans has been a great doctor for my parents. Unfortunately today when I talked with Jessie she was beyond unprofessional. She suggested if we weren’t happy to find medical attention somewhere else. Also she expressed that she did not understand how we were feeling about the lack of help given to my parents during Covid and made me feel as if we were the only patients that have felt this way! This isn’t the first time that she has come across rude to patients."
"I was hopeful about this practice but I feel pretty unsettled about my experience. I am new to the area and I went in for a physical but also wanted to touch base with what would hopefully be my new primary care provider about other routine care. The nurse that called me back seemed flustered and stressed, I thought maybe she was just having a rough day, and tried to make small talk anyways. Unfortunately, her bedside manner did not improve. She said they were very busy. When I was waiting in the exam room I read lots of notices on the room/taped to the back of the door about their medication refill policy. To me, it came off harsh, I understand that offices have to have boundaries and protect the best interests of their patients, but again, this seemed over the top. The Nurse Practitioner was kind, but when I asked about having my medications filled with her as my PCP, she said I’d need to make another appointment, even though I was sitting right there with her. (I would have been fine with an additional charge/fee on top of the physical.) I decided not to go back to this practice, and keep using my PCP in my old town until I find another doctor. When I spoke to my local pharmacist about the requirements this practice had for getting medication, she was baffled by the medication policy as well. Ironically, perhaps this office is so “busy” because of this weird policy, and maybe if they weren’t so stringent about it, the nurses wouldn’t feel as stressed, and patients would have a better overall impression. At this practice, it was very clear that I was being served because I was paying for it. The policies of the practice make it seem as though their primary concern is billing, not wellbeing of their patients. I hope that this will change."
"New patient to this facility. Patrick and the nurses are very kind and informative, however, the front desk personnel (on this particular day) could use some improvement. I've called twice and talked with a Jessie and she could use training in dealing with the public regarding health care. Overall, this is a very clean, professional setting and I would recommend Patrick. He is very thorough and tries his best to get to the bottom of what your issue may be. **Update: Received a phone call from Jessie, the Office Manager, after posting this review. She apologized for any wrong impression given over the phone and explained her true intentions for concerned patients calling in. I appreciated the follow up as online reviews are extremely important when making decisions on selecting medical providers. First contact personnel (no matter the title) play huge roles as they are the first face and voice patients may see or hear. I still recommend anyone in this area to University Medical Associates. As appreciation for the follow up, my review has been updated so that others may see an incident occurred and was addressed immediately. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience."
