"Don’t bother coming here. They won’t help you if you are taking a prescribed controlled substance from another provider yet you not addicted and you need the help. They’ll just give you a list of therapist to call. Their help sucks. Oh and my favorite, you ask for a nurse and leave your number to the nurse in a voicemail and they never call you back. I was even asked by a therapist there in her office face to face if I ever was arrested for a violent crime. It should be called Spartanburg mental no help because when you need help, they don’t. People need help and this place treats them like they are money for their pockets or like garbage. There is help at other places where therapist do care and will help you. If you are in need of help, don’t give up. Don’t let this place discourage you."
"This place is TERRIBLE. My husband came from an amazing Greenville doctor who simply wanted him to try this place out since it was supposed to have a full approach to mental health care. The therapist was awful. She was late to his session, made him feel like she could care less about her job and never even scheduled him for a follow up. Communication has been bad with scheduling. One month after we started here, we received a huge bill from the main place in Columbia for almost $1000 for only two appmts. Not ONCE did anyone (especially the “care coordinator” during his appmt who is supposed to make sure he gets all the help he needs) mention his insurance would not pay for the care here. This is a major expense for any family. They are currently in a “revamp” I’ve heard, going through some changes. I will never step foot in here again after this awful experience! It made me scared for his life letting him go here to be honest. I pray this place improves over the coming years! Spartanburg needs much better mental health care than it has. EDIT: it’s been 3 years and they are trying to say we owe hundreds of dollars for two awful visits (one of which my husband walked out on because his therapist was totally useless and unorganized). Tried to tell them insurance info multiple times and they claimed they did not accept it at the time. So they never made that clear to my husband at any point if that’s even true! They did not even bother to tell my husband this at any point while there either!! Terrible place so NOT trust your loved ones in their care here!!"
"I also would give a zero if I could. Very rude staff. My appointments are always lost for my kids. Shirley on the phone cuts you off when you speak. I was nice and trying to explain something, and was cut off twice. Also, every time I approach this building, there are people outside of the building, asking for cigarettes. I feel extremely uncomfortable, and unsafe, when I am trying to enter the building."
"Giving a 2 star because the Doctors that saw my son were amazing, supportive and kind but based off of everything else I cannot give a good review. My son was diagnosed with ADHD and ODD and prescribed medicine. The medicine was 402$ for a 30 day supply so it had to be approved separately by Medicaid. Understandable no big deal. The prescription gets approved and sent to the pharmacy, this is where everything starts going downhill. The pharmacy states that because of the way the prescription was written that they cannot fill it so they had to send it back to Spartanburg Mental Health to get the prescription corrected. This was now going on 3 weeks ago that they sent it and it has not been corrected. I’ve called and left voicemails multiple times. No one has gotten back to me. No one telling me that the issue is being fixed or even been acknowledged. Mental health is so important and should definitely be treated as such ESPECIALLY at a MENTAL HEALTH facility. My son has still gone without the medicine, yet has an appointment here in a week to see how the medicine is working. Well I’d love to tell you how it’s working if I could actually get it for him. After advocating for my son for over 2 years and finally having someone listen and diagnose him, just for it to fall at the wayside is discouraging to say the least. Something has to change especially if others are experiencing the same thing. I’m not angry, just a frustrated mother in need of answers that I’m not being provided with. Just know coming here with your child, yes they are very good and kind doctors but the steps that follow and how they are handled are very much sub par. I just want to help my child, and we aren’t getting that courtesy."
"This place absolutely sucks. I had an appointment with a Tele Dr. on 3 separate occasions. I went for 3 months for each appointment made. I sat in the room for 1 hour each time I went and each time the assistant came back and told me the Dr had forgotten they had an appointment and couldn't make it. So I went and wasted my time 3 different times."
