"This used to be the only vet I would go to. Have been coming here for over 15 years with multiple animals. Over the last 2 years though the service has been terrible! The number of doctors that end up leaving has become a real problem. I can never get a refill on my prescriptions without having to bring the dogs back into the vet. Came twice in July went to get a refill on my prescription the next month and they said they would have to email the doctor to find out if they could put more refills on it. The doctor when I was there in July even said she had put multiple refills on the prescription since this had been an ongoing issue. Yet I'm still waiting for a refill. If you care about getting your dog's medications in a timely mannered to not go here!"
"Why pay for a wellness plan when you can't even get in for your pet to be seen?? It was very difficult to get an appointment, regardless of whether it was an emergency or not. I was paying close to $50 a month for my pet to be seen "anytime" I needed her to be seen, but that was not the case. I had to visit 3 different Banfield's in my area, and in most cases had to wait several weeks if not months to be seen. I truly believe if my dog was seen when I needed her to be seen she would still be alive. Unfortunately, she passed a week ago today (April 24, 2023). To make matters worse, Banfield says I still owe for the "remaining balance" on the plan. My girl is DECEASED!! What kind of services are going to provide?? What a rip off!! If anything, BANFIELD should owe me for the services NOT provided throughout the 14 years she was enrolled there! I will never use Banfield again and still expecting a call from Corporate but have not heard from them 'yet'."
"Today my family ended our relationship with Banfield Pet Hospital. Since Covid we haven't been happy with the fact that we can't go back into the exam rooms with our dogs but were assured that would change. It hasn't. We had a wonderful vet named Dr. McLaughlin but she along with every veterinarian has left the practice except one. I feel awful for this doctor. Today was the last straw. We had back to back appointments with the vet for both of our dogs that should of taken 90 minutes for both at best. We made these appointments weeks ago. After 3 1/2 hours our dogs still hadn't been seen and when asked why, the staff told us that it was a busy surgery day and they wouldn't be seen for some time still. We were never told that when we made the appointments or when they called me this morning to confirm. We asked to have our dogs back and took them home. This unfortunately is the norm now with this place and it saddens me because they have always had our loyalty. We will be cancelling our wellness plans and finding another practice. I understand that times are difficult and they are short staffed. However, they are putting business and profit over what is best for the customers and the patients. DO BETTER, Banfield."
"REPOSTING - Banfield Removed my review!!! Then blocked my account. Using my fiancé’s account to repost. At 6 months old our pup (Echo) was diagnosed with renal dysplasia, a chronic kidney disease. We chose Banfield because it was affordable at the time. They were great with her during her puppy months. However, as her disease progressed she started having incontinence where she would occasionally pee while sleeping. I took her in, they gave her this medication that would help with this side effect. One week later she suddenly got very sick. So I took her back, she was there all day because they are always so busy. They call me later in the day and tell me that she’s in stage 4 kidney failure. I’m not sure if the medication escalated her kidney function, I can’t say for sure. Well, Dr. Yager tells me that we should euthanize her THAT DAY. Not only was I surprised she jumped to conclusions, but she told me this over the phone!! I had to have my friend drive me there because I was an emotional wreck!! We decided to not euthanize her that day, but they still pressured us to schedule it. We scheduled it for a few days later. They sent us home with 3 fluid bags to inject under her skin. After two days on fluids she bounced back like nothing was wrong. So we chose to skip our appointment to euthanize her. I called them and left a message cancelling the appointment.... No one EVER contacted me back again. Goes to show how much they don’t care! So we decided to get a second opinion and the new veterinarian confirmed her blood results showed major improvements. Yes, she’s sick, but not to the point of euthanasia. Echo showed no signs of pain or discomfort! The new vet got us on a treatment plan and now we give her subcutaneous fluids everyday, along with antibiotics. Fast forward to 3 months later and she is still with us, and better than we could ever imagine. I’m EXTREMELY concerned at the level of certainty Banfield had to suggest putting her down. It’s concerning, and I feel that people need to know our story. Banfield is a corporate business that don’t have the level of expertise to treat chronic conditions. Don’t go there if your pet has a disease! I immediately cancelled my membership after this happened. By the way, you can’t cancel until the year is up so I still had to pay them each month after the traumatic experience we had! They had no other options like the new veterinarian had. How do they just give up? They must not realize that pet owners will do whatever they can to keep their pet alive. Absolutely unbelievable. Never going back there again!"
