"I went to have blood work done and as soon as I walked in I was greeted. I explained I had a prescription and a sweet female named Lindsay helped me. She seemed to be a very dedicated, efficient employee because I was very impressed with her. Also the female that drew my blood was very efficient and caring and friendly. I didn't get her name but she was around 43, had auburn colored hair and she mentioned she had a 4 year old son. I hope that Abbeville Area Medical Center is aware and proud to have these two employees....Janet L Smith"
"It’s kind of hit or miss depending on the doctor. I couldn’t breathe and they only tested me for COVID/flu then sent me home. Turned out I had a pulmonary embolism. But a different doctor was able to help me when I got incredibly sick and couldn’t walk. I do think it’s kind of weird that they’ll make you wheelchair in if you fell over but then you’re expected to walk out after (Referring to PE visit and when I was still falling over because I had a concussion at another visit). I definitely feel like there’s a bias against younger people showing serious symptoms, I can’t help I’m young and wound up with a blood clot in my lungs. I guess I just wish they were a bit more thorough with testing"
"If I could give zero stars I would automatically. We got there at 2pm or few mins after a couple checked out as we were walking in at that time. come to 7pm my daughters and I still waiting. that same couple comes back a second time not even waits 5 whole mins with the lady not even as sick as my daughter goes back to be seen. It really wasn’t even that made me mad it was the fact that When my daughter was crying waiting in the lobby hurting nothing offered to help or anything unlike everyone esl giving them blankets and etc. my daughter would ask me “ mom, can u please get me some help please I’m not feeling well”. I had to tell her “ I couldn’t knowing we are paying for the help we get and etc it made me so angry”. The ladies behind the counter did nothing but talk about her and laugh. After this 3 hours later Only thing they did was take test her for Covid and strep throat flu. We still waiting in lobby lady behind desk 6 in a half hours later then One of the lady which long brown hair wears glasses was probably the best one out of them. she going to get the results for us so we knew at least and how to treat her with the right medicine at home instead of being seen. Couple more hours later I come to ask for results when time to go when we wanted to leave after confrontation for not even offering help to my daughter. they won’t even tell me my daughters test results but told me “oh it’s on the app right now you can look but you can’t do anything esl without being seen. I can’t give her any medicine water anything without being seen. Be thankful it’s a good thing she’s not back here receiving help she’s still in the lobby and goes on & on running her mouth”, the pregnant nurse tells us very rudely. As a mom I wanted to know my daughters results from the test so we knew if she had strep throat like her sister or not. I wanted to get her help. yes, I was frustrated as a parent and a patient. I think my daughter deserved the help like everyone esl in the lobby and such was offered to the others. The workers and fake cop could of at least tried to understand where I was coming from because I understood their point & apologized to us as patients. The pregnant nurse didn’t even need to come out yelling at my sick daughter & I. nothing was even concerning her period. She wasn’t even trying to help but made the situation worse. My question is why was my daughter not offered anything at all when she was screaming and crying on the floor in pain like the others? This hospital doesn’t care if you’re sick dying on the floor go somewhere esl this place is a sorry excuse for a hospital."
"Really I give 0 stars. My wife went for doppler test to see about blood clots. She couldn't breathe and barely walk. These so called professionals said "everything is fine" sent her home. Still feeling like death, she went to a hospital the next town over and they found 2 blood clots in her right lung. And now is being properly treated. This is my wife's life they played with, and gets sent home? DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!"
"Took my daughter on a Monday night. They did multiple test including Strep, Covid, and Flu. All which came back negative. Sent her home with no antibiotics. Her fever that night spiked to 103.8 and I felt like something was wrong and that I didn’t get the right answers. Next day I took her to her doctors office and they ran blood work and saw that her white blood count was extremely high and sent us to another hospital to run more tests. After hours and hours of waiting and more test they saw that my daughter had strep, the start of an ear infection, and possibly a UTI. My daughter had ran a fever for 5 days straight. The fevers were in the 102-104 range. As a mother that is a very scary thing. I think this hospital needs to take the health of their patients more seriously. They need to stop resorting to the easy answers and actually investigate what is going on with the patient. I would rather drive and hour for better care and the right answers then go to a hospital that’s 20 minutes away from my home that’s just giving answers that aren’t accurate. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL! I do want to say that the nurse my daughter had that night was very caring and was very sweet to my daughter."
