"There is a thrill in watching an artist do what they do best. I want to get from A to B, I don’t care how I get there. Sometimes, the journey is full of rocky terrain full of frights and near misses, but not give credit to a man where you can comfortably fall asleep while he holds a razor, maybe I am missing something. The barbershop is a staple for certain reasons, and I think I am beginning to understand that as a grown man. Limited only because of my own baldness, who currently would drive 15-20 minutes in “ I need to go get in the elementary line” traffic, spend money so that another man could touch their face, have you lost your mind? Well, maybe I have. A quaint establishment that you can miss if you are not paying attention; certainly, a hidden gem. Walking in sends me back to a time of understandable music of my youth. A time that my cares were that of just getting a fade. Never mind the man who the barbers harass. He came for it and returned fire. Everyone laughed. No feelings were hurt. Everyone was smiling. It was my first time in this place, and I fell asleep. A shut-in with a little anxiety fell asleep in a barber’s chair. Marinate for a second. The artist, Spaz, took the canvas that was my face, and made it into something that I don’t want to blemish. If this is what women do for vanity, I know where my extra money will be going. Thank you very much. I will be back."
