"Stay away! This was probably the worst dinning experience I've had in the lowcountry! I personally hated the atmosphere. I absolutely loathed the lighting. Our waitress was non existent the entire meal other than taking our order and bringing the food. Nobody got a refill until I asked for the check and even then we had to ask for a refill! Started with the calamari app. Do not recommend, no real meat mostly crunchy breading. The hot honey sauce that went with it was a strange combo! The country fried steak was tuff and chewy. The Mac n cheese was extremely salty. The only positive thing was my daughter enjoyed her chicken fried pork chop. Unfortunately this place was a one and done for our family."

"The service and atmosphere was great! We had the crab dip that was delicious! Now the fried chicken and country fried steak was a different story. The breading was way too much! You had to peel off a pound to get to the meat. The chicken was subpar and the steak was tough. The sides were good but the breading was way too much! I may comeback to try the desserts."

"Started with the calamari appetizer and it was good. The red rice side was ok just a little dry for my taste. I also tried the lowcounty chicken soup and it has a good taste but I felt they could do better as a flavor profile. I also ordered the chicken fried pork chop entree and it had a very good taste except with the crispy pork chop placed on top of the mashed potatoes and then the peas and pearl onions placed on top the crispy pork chop had its nice crispy crust tuned into mush. A bit unfortunate because I love a crispy outer crust but to each their own likes and dislikes. For the finale dessert I ordered the banana pudding and it just bananas pudding in a mason jar with whipped cream on top with 2 vanilla wafers placed on top. For a cocktail drink I ordered the Captains Sash it it was very,very good."

"Had a nice meal at Poogan’s - not outstanding in any way, but good. They seemed to be a little understaffed, but the servers were trying hard. The wife had the chicken fried pork chop, minus the gravy. It was flavorful and had a little kick. I had the sweet tea salmon, on sweet potato puree and succotash. Salmon was good, but I wasn’t a big fan of the succotash. 7pm on Saturday night - we assumed it would be busy, but it wasn’t. They do take reservations though, and that’s a plus."
