"I was very satisfied with my service. The initial reviews made me skeptical but I decided to give it a go anyway. I only like Senegalese twists so I went in, told her that I was very particular about my hair, showed her exactly how I wanted it to look. I asked to check constantly throughout the process and even explained that I was willing to leave if I didn’t like the quality. She understood and respected my wishes. Communication was key. I did pay $230 which is quite high for what I’m used to but I was prepared to pay for quality and it was the price she quoted me. She didn’t rush and she barely took a break. She was pleasant and polite. If I come back to Augusta, I will definitely look her up."
"Normally I don’t give bad reviews. However, when it comes to me reaching out to said owner, and no response after three days of waiting. So here it is... Went to this shop on a Saturday for crochet braids. Was told to be there at 10:00. I arrived on time. Once arriving, there was someone already in the chair. She proceeded to say, her friend will be in soon after calling her to come in. They arrived at 11ish. To make a long story short. On Wednesday, my crochets started falling out by the row. I sent her a picture to inform her of this. Three days later, still no response. I have been going to this shop for two years. Never had problem. Aicha, is the one who normally does my hair and it is always right and tight. However, the lady that assist her at times, does not know what she is doing. I have had this hairstyle a week and the crochet came out in patches. Which left me no other choice but to take them out. I’m out of $120 and a hairstyle that was supposed to last a month, ended up lasting a five days. I have been a loyal customer for two years. However, I will not be returning due to that lack of professionalism from the owner. A simple reply, by saying come in and let me fix them could have went a long way for me. I wish I was able to upload pictures for evidence."
"I originally started off with good service and referred multiple people to this shop. However, I guess because she is the only African Shop in the area; she feels as if she can con you while you sit there. First, she double books and your sitting there for hours when you should be in the chair getting your hair braided. Twice she has raised the price "after" she is finished. The last time I refused to pay the increase and refused to ever go back. How can you quote someone a price when they walk in and increase stating "look at my work, I did good work." Yes, you did but that's what you were paid to do with what you quoted. She will not discount for making you wait either; instead she tries to get extra money and get mad with you for questioning her tactics. She has done this to everyone that I referred to her. It is very poor business practice."
"I will not recommend anyone goes to this salon... I went there and ask if she could do Havana twist she said yes and had to go find the hair. When I came back she was not the one doing my hair and had told the young lady( I think her niece) how I wanted my hair yet she begin doing these skinny twist so she stopped her and she had to start over only for her to only go up just a size, I was just like forget it and let her keep going bc my grandmother viewing and funeral was the weekend and I needed something done to my head. I also ask her not to catch my edges but to leave them out to prevent them from popping yet she grabbed EVERY stran of my edges only for me to take them out and my edges be COMPLETELY gone. The shop is not sanitary to me the bathroom was filthy.... The lady knew that my hair was not anywhere near Havana twist yet didn't ask to take something off the price, apologize or anything. They def order food and stop to eat with no hesitation and stop in the middle to ask you to pay (VERY UNPROFESSIONAL). I Will NEVER go back there!!! They charge a arm and leg and you do not get what you request......"
"I have never paid 180.00 for a hair style and not get one at all. I asked for a shoulder length tree-braid with straight hair, bob style and feathered on one side. I left with straight hair past the middle of my back. When asked to do the style I showed her when she finally arrived, she stated that she doesn't cut, curl or style the hair. That she is not licensed for that and I'd have to go to a stylist for that. I did just as she said I went to a stylist and because of the type of hair Aicha put in my hair it wouldn't even curl. After telling Aicha that I followed her instructions and the hair was still unacceptable she told me it was my stylist fault and not hers. She yelled at me and blamed me for her bad work, not refunding any of the large amount I'd paid her or trying to make it look better. Stay Away from her, I will till I see her in small claims court."
