"Great place, off the beaten path and out of MOST traffic...some bicyclists speed through and have had near misses with pedestrians. Depending on the time of day, usually there is plenty of sun and shade along the 6 miles of paved pathway. I've seen a host of wildlife to include hawks, owls, deer, and snakes. Currently, a majority of the trail is next to major road construction that is slotted to last another 2+ years."
"Paved, Long, Well-traveled. If you are looking for a solid trail, then the Sawmill Branch Canal Trail is the path to fitness. This paved path is suitable for walkers, joggers, cyclists, and more. The path is wide enough to accommodate pasing or being overtaken without the need to go off the trail. There are several road crossings over not too busy roadways, but attention still needs to be given. The trail is less covered than in previous years with the removal of many of the great shading trees so wear sun protection liberally."
"Nice greenway to walk, jog or ride bikes. Occasionally you'll see various wildlife. However, be cautious while riding bikes. The edges of the trail aren't maintained and grass has grown over some areas and the trail gets bottle necked if walkers or other bikes go by these areas at the same time. Otherwise, nice trail."
"Cool place. My son and I have been visiting this location for the past few weeks almost every day. I am, have been and will remain one that is more comfortable in my natural environment. This place won't facilitate the extent of my likings but it's a good start. It's Even more important to me that I spent real time with my children, Individually, so I can free them of as many fears of the unknown as possible and prevent the technologies of the day to blind them of there naturally occurring elements, beauties, precautions and bad things to be aware of. This is one of those places my 4 year old son and I will remember our entire lives as a happy, loving time together teaching/learning more of nature and one another. For that I Thank you my son!!! DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT . Get outside and go/do anything good with your kids and feel better..."
