"Brought our camper and kayaks in April. Stayed on a lakeside site. We’ll maintained, beautiful and quiet. Noticed some sites were more suited for directly accessing the water. Ours (site 59) had a steep bank, so we used the boat ramp for our kayaks. As with all the state parks we’ve visited, highly recommend!"

"My first visit to this one of several beautiful SC state parks. I am impressed with the long, level, paved campsites. Each has water & electric (aside from primitive hike-in tent sites). Sites also have recently updated picnic tables & metal fire rings with attached grill. There are two boat launches with parking. Most campsites have beautiful lake views. Some back right up to the water. There are two dump stations & small recycling bins in addition to trash dumpsters. Good fishing from the bank & from a fishing pier at the picnic area. Lake is down 6 ft for the season & not crowded at all. There are laundry facilities at the visitor center. Bath houses have hot showers & are kept pretty clean. Campground still busy, though. The biggest downside is the proximity to I-85. While this makes the campground very convenient to access, you can hear the Jake breaks all night long. Overall, wonderful campground."
