"I have had 2 experiences at Curtis V Cooper and they were both terrible. The first was back in November with Dr. Jackson. When I arrived, there was a line out the door because they only have one person checking everyone in (keep in mind every patient being seen for family medicine, psych, dentistry, women's health, etc. is all checking in at the same place). After I checked in and received my new patient paperwork and filled it out, I tried to hand it to one of the 3-4 women solely inputting the new patient paperwork into the system. I was told I had to get back in the long line out the door to hand it to the original woman again. Just the check in process alone took over 40 minutes. After I was sent to different waiting room, I was directed to the lab to leave a sample then continued waiting. In total, I waited over 3 hours to go back to be seen. During that time, I talked to the patients around me and they told me the wait was usually that bad. Once I got to see Dr. Jackson, he denied writing my prescription until he could have a copy of my testing documentation proving I needed it (even though I was able to pull up the 10 page document and show it to him on my phone during the visit.) I immediately left the visit and emailed all of my documentation and recent labs to the email given to me by the medical records department AND printed out hard copies and drove it back to the office and handed it to his nurse directly with my phone number. Over the course of two months, I waited and tried calling 2 other times and was told the message would be passed along so he would fill my prescription. Since two months had already passed, I finally booked a Telehealth visit with Dr. Davis since I was clearly not going to get my prescription and I do not have the time to go sit another 3 hours again to be seen. I waited in the virtual waiting room for over 50 mins before Dr. Davis came on and said "what can I help you with?" No hello, introduction, or apology for being over 50 minutes late to my appointment time. The appointment lasted a whole 4 minutes because he stated he would not write my prescription and I should go back to Dr. Jackson. I tried to explain why I would not be doing that, but he cut me off multiple times and said "I just work here. This place is a mess." So in conclusion, this is the worst experience I have ever had at a medical office, I will never be going back, and I will deter anyone I can from going here. I have wasted 2 copays and over 4 hours of my time to still not have what I need."
"If you’re looking for a new PCP in the downtown area, think of this location as more of a walk-in health clinic than a family medical practice with regular patients. Kind of felt like an emergency room without the commotion. Everyone I interacted with was great, but it was obvious they were overwhelmed, tired, and approaching burnout. Doing the best they could with the resources they have available."
"Doctor /Nurse that attended to me amazing . Front staff was Ok not very friendly. Wait time was ridiculous! I got there at 10:30 was still there at 1:00 pm needed x-ray and labs drawn . Go figure they were gone to lunch and don’t return until 2:00 so I left and now have to go back. I absolutely dread using them for a doctors office due to the ridiculous amount of time spent ."
"I wish I could leave a review based on service, but after two weeks of trying to call with no one answering, I think it’s fair to go ahead and review based on that. I had successfully scheduled a new patient appointment, followed by a cleaning, and unfortunately had to cancel when I got sick. Ever since then, I have been unable to get on the phone with anyone to reschedule. I left two voicemails, which were never returned, and now the voicemail box has been full for several days. every time I call now, it rings until it disconnects. I’ve tried every way of getting through that I can think of and haven’t had any luck. I would imagine this is indicative of the type of service that I would receive if I went in."
"I would have more respect for this place if they just said “we are booked “ and scheduled the appointments according to their anticipated volume. The wait time is ABSURDDDDDDD!!!!!!!! If you have to go to work or do anything else that day just take the entire day off. It’s NOT worth it for those who have to take kids to school or go to work. But at the end of the day i suppose you expect this From the doctors with this type of insurance. I feel deeply sadden by this. Schedule as much as you can fit. PERIOD."
