"Do not visit this restaurant. On Sunday May 21st, I caught the bartenders and owner throwing out unfinished beverages (without asking). I was charged $10 for each corona beer on Sunday, May 7th. They do not accept credit cards. The bouncers have an attitude. The food is ok."
"A group of 8 friends and I were going to walk in. Bouncer was trying to be a tough guy. He was the reason why we ended up leaving. I mentioned to the bouncer why is there a cover charge if the place is completely empty and it was 2am. He then was trying to intimidate me for no reason so we ended up walking away. This place needs better staff no one needs a bad vibe especially on new years."
"I'm Bolivian and Kabu has been my go-to place for saltenas for years. Although they seem to be shrinking in size every few months, their saltenas are still the tastiest in the neighborhood. If I were rating only their saltenas, they would still get 5 stars. However, the past few visits have been very discouraging and I can't help but have a sour taste for the establishment in general. Enough to make me never want to return. The staff was very dismissive. It took about 15 minutes to get seated eventhough a few tables were available and all they had to do was clean them. My boyfriend and I ended up just sitting down at a table with trash on it. It then took us about another 15 minutes to get anyone to take our order and the place wasn't very busy! (It was 4pm). We saw folks having drinks so we asked for a rum and coke but the waiter told us it would take a while because the bar is busy and offered no alternative. I had to ask if it was possible to just open two beers for us. He rolled his eyes and went off to grab them. When we finally ordered and got our food, we found the taste completely changed and underwhelming. Given the whole experience, we just wanted to leave as soon as possible! Luckily the check actually came quickly. We thought we'd seen the worst but then realized they mainly added a 15% too to the total on the check (see pic). I had forgotten they only take cash so my boyfriend had used their ATM to take out $40 already, estimating a decent tip regardless of the service. But once we saw they were forcing us to leave that tip anyway, we were completely turned off. This method is very forceful and desperate. I am not spending any money at this place again unless I'm absolutely forced to get saltenas to go, for my mom."
