"I didn’t find this place worthwhile. It is first and foremost a junk store, and the prices are just not justified for the quality. There seem to be price brackets for the -type- of item, regardless of what they are or where they come from: all furniture (side tables through cabinets) is $90-300, most artwork is $80-$200, home goods (vases, etc) $20-80, lamps all $75-95. None of the furniture has been refinished or really refurbished, and $300 is a little too much for a piece you’ll have to make a full project yourself. They have mostly artwork, although a lot of frames are pretty broken and still somehow $80. Their videos are cute, but this is really the kind of place you visit for movie production design, where the items won’t be on screen long enough to see details and budget isn’t really an object."

"I'm proud to say that Remix has almost exclusively furnished my apartment, no joke. Over 80% of my furniture has been found inside the store and occasionally on the sidewalk during their weekly Freebie Friday. Their selection is great with something for all budgets, and their staff are the friendliest people! Thanks to them, my home is now a cozy place to live and elicits compliments from friends when they come over (a crucial metric). I avoid buying new where I can out of care for the environment AND my bank account. Furnishing an apartment in NYC isn't cheap, but Remix has made it a lot easier with unique pieces (including art, clothes and kitchenwares) at affordable and negotiable prices. It's my go-to whether I'm hunting for a specific piece or just want a cute place to browse for surprises. You never know what you'll find, like the giant antique cast iron skillet I will absolutely take to my grave. I like knowing I'm helping keep furniture out of landfills and supporting a local business with a social good mission. They give away so much of their inventory to teachers, nonprofits, mutual aid groups, churches and other community-geared projects that need furnishings. Unlike a lot of used furniture spots, Remix updates their listings daily and includes measurements, fun descriptions and prices. Tbh, I stalk their social media both for new inventory and for the funny videos. More than just a used home goods store, Remix is a caring group of people who are actively involved in composting, community gardens, theater, mutual aid, social justice and more. Instead of buying cheaply made junk at IKEA, go to Remix!"

"They have some high quality stuff in good condition here. Seemed a little expensive, but maybe that's NYC, plus i like their mission. I saw a handmade Iranian wool area rug (supposedly?) for $280 that was beautiful but alas money. There was also a giant couch and a couple mid century modern pieces."
