"On September 12th, 2020 I purchased a Husqvarna Z254F zero turn mower from Robertsons Ace Hardware Laurens. I remember thinking at the time, «This is customer service!». Mike Burmaster delivered the mower approximately 2 hours after the purchase to my wife’s old mobile in Laurens. Sadly, my opinion of Robertsons has recently changed. I guess the sale is important but service after the sale is a different story????? Some background first, Robertsons carries Husqvarna and the Z254F is one of the most popular residential mowers currently made by any brand. They have a bunch of Husqvarnas for sale out by the road right now….I’m guessing this is the #1 brand they sell? You would think they would keep standard maintenance items for products they sell in stock, such as belts and pulleys that routinely break but this is not the case!!!! Around the beginning of August I had an idler pulley break on my mower and the belt slipped off. I live in Rock Hill, SC but about half my time in Laurens. Not having tools with me I decided to take it in for repair after Robertsons told my wife it would take «A week maybe less» to fix it. This is about as simple a repair as possible…..one bolt and slip the belt back on. Any competent mechanic should be able to complete it in less than 15 minutes. After a week I had not heard anything and as I was coming to Laurens I called. Lawnmower service department said the parts were not in yet. Repeat at two weeks then three weeks and four weeks. Every Thursday I would call and get the same answer. They claimed they were at the mercy of Husqvarna to receive the part. Blatently False! I spoke to two separate managers finally getting very ticked off! I have since ordered parts off of Amazon and there were 20+ vendors offering next day, two day and no more than 1 week delivery. Robertsons took over a month and I’m actually not sure at this point if they ever did get the part or not? On Thursday Sept 8th I called and told them I would be in to pick the mower up fixed or not. It was fixed. Never did get an apology for the repair taking 5X longer than they told me. Grandsons run the business that their Grandfather started……problems need to be addressed as I’m sure the original owner would have never let such a simple service ticket take this long? Certainly would not have remained in business if he had. NO EXCUSE FOR IT! Additionally, girls running the registers up front have always had an attitude whenever I’ve been in there…..but may not be able to help that, typical Gen Z lack of work ethic, that is running rampant everywhere these days. Anyway, I’m done doing business with Robertsons. I’ll go to the other (not Robertsons) Hardware place in Clinton, the service and atttitude has always been much better there. I have mentioned the extremely poor repair service to the 30+ guys in my huntclub this past weekend and hopefully they will each tell 30 more and so on……Robertsons your service for lawnmower repair stinks! You do this for a living! Have some pride. Over a month for one of the most simple frequently replaced routine maintenance parts that took me 2 days to get!!!! Unbelievable Incompetence. I know Laurens is overrun with Methheads…..if you are using them in your mower repair just STOP. FIRE the Service Manager back there IMMEDIATELY as he does not have even a remote clue as to what genuine customer service is! Keep the basic,, routine maintenance mower parts in stock for the units you deliver……just one set each PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!! Please don’t screw the next person who brings a mower in for repair like you did me. After 6 weeks I have finally been able to mow my lawn.....NO THANKS TO ROBERTSONS!!!!!!"
