Hyatt Place Charleston/Historic District 560 King Street, Charleston, SC 29403

"I’m literally sitting in the waiting area waiting for our check in to be completed and I can say that the hospitality and customer service is disappointing. Check in is at 4pm. We asked in person at 12pm if early check in was possible, we were told yes. It is 3:42pm currently and we’re told our room is not available yet. Almost 4 hours ago we were told it’s possible but that wasn’t true. Now for the hospitality. Charleston is “known” to be a friendly and inviting tourist destination. With friendly, welcoming people. The front staff this afternoon is opposite of friendly and inviting. Not personable. Not smiling. Not willing to resolve issues or make us feel welcomed. We are from here and I say personal say this isn’t Charleston. Like behavior. Hopefully your stay is a better experience."

"This was a great deal and the location is amazing. Lots of local restaurants and bars all in walking distance. The staff was friendly and they had a cool rooftop bar. The room was very clean and the staff made sure everything was amazing. I would use this hotel again."

"Excellent location, and it accepts dogs! Very good breakfast. Room was good, although with four people, two had to sleep on sofa bed which was uncomfortable. Front desk attendants are not terribly helpful except the overnight gentleman."

"Hotel room was lovely, really big, clean and comfortable and the staff were amazing. Unfortunately it was not quiet. Our next door neighbour had a crying baby which we could hear through our walls. We also heard other guests being loud into early hrs of the morning which disrupted our stay. The valet parking is not good value either. We waited over 30 minutes for our car when we could have easily picked up our car ourselves which cause us to miss out on our plans. All of the above could have been avoided so I would still would recommend others stay here."

"This is a fantastic place to stay in Charleston. The staff is friendly, hotel and rooms are clean and it is conveniently located on the main drag near the entertainment/bar area. Local shops and businesses on this side of King. Not too far to walk or drive to the open air market or the fancy high end stores on the other end of the King. Parking is not the cheapest. There is a garage with a daily/hourly in and out rate or a hotel valet daily flat rate, plan accordingly."
