"Chicken stew and hush puppies can’t be beat. Slaw is pretty good too. I would describe the atmosphere as “essential.” Wherever you are, it’s worth the drive just for the chicken stew."

"Too frequently they are out of chicken stew. They have the best stew but are often out. If they're busy, they turn off the phone so you can't know til you get there."

"What a hidden gem! The chicken stew has the old classic flavor like your great grandmother would make. The slaw is finely ground with other vegetables in it. The hash is delicious! I’m from the midlands part of the state “Dutch fork” region. The hash was different from what I’m use to eating. However, I was so impressed and I can’t wait to get back to this place!! I highly recommend!"

I had the cheeseburger plate with an ample amount of seasoned fries. More than I could eat. The hushpuppies were good. If you like everything fried, then this place is for you..."

"Went august 4 2023.Was very disappointed. Was out of some sides. Chicken livers were not as good as usual.Slaw was awful.Waitress said it is according to who makes it.floors sticky bad. Chairs & shoes sticking to floors bad. Bathroom stinks at times like sewage the chicken stew okra, and hush puppies were good. Seems as if they are letting it go. I know there’s no one was there but us. Think I will not go back again and less I hear that it has improved."
