"Wow is all I can say!! I’ll let the pictures do justice to the high quality work that Al and Molly were able to do to my tailgate. I unfortunately backed into a tree that caused a medium sized dent right in the crease of my tailgate. It was a very tricky spot to work on and other shops in the area wanted to charge a fortune to take it out, almost the price of just getting a new tailgate !!! Al and Molly did a stellar job at a very reasonable price and communicated with me through the whole repair. Can’t say enough good things about them. I contemplated even writing this review since I know Al is already buried in a bunch of work but he is well worth the wait !! Y’all go check him out!"

"Al's Custom Auto Refinishing is the fastest to respond and with a fair price for any auto refinishing needs. Al and his awesome co-pilot took one of our Hamby Catering vehicles, set a fair price, and began work immediately, Vehicle came back at the time that was quoted, and they even took a scuff out of the the other side of vehicle. Al knows what he's talking about when he quotes you a price, and wont try to bull-dog you into paying for something you don't need. If you own/operate a business that has a fleet of 3 vehicles +, I'd highly recommend putting Al's number in your phone. I have all intentions of rotating my entire fleet of 8 vehicles through his shop over the next year."

"Quietly the best body shop in Charleston and it's a one man show. I only found Al's shop due to the lack of responsiveness of literally every other shop in Charleston so I dug a little bit deeper on the google search results and found Custom Auto. I called, he answered.. I didn't have to hold for anyone because Al controls every detail of the business. I can recall one time Al did not answer his phone when I needed to speak to him and he called back promptly, he was busy working on my car by the way. Al ensured that the insurance company paid for all the correct parts and he never settled by allowing them to put aftermarket junk on my car. He made sure they ponied up for factory parts and did all the dirty work for me. The work is flawless. I used to buy/sell used cars and would always look for orange peel on the paint to detect prior work... if I didn't know my own car I would think the factory fender had been prior painted because of how good his paint work was on my damaged one. My car also has a complex lighting package with 6 bulbs in each headlamp. He made sure everything was working exactly as from factory and even informed me that a bulb was dead in the other non damaged lamp and fixed it for me. Final note, he is a legitimately salt of the earth nice guy."

"Deserves more than 5 stars! Did a flawless repair job on my BMW 428i - I can't imagine any body shop doing a more professional job, at any price. And that's the thing - the price was extremely reasonable for such top-notch quality (don't be afraid to bring your exotica here). And the service! Honestly, I don't think I've received such attentive, conscientious, considerate and friendly service - and follow up - from any auto-related business in my life. Outstanding and exceptional in every way."
