"I am so totally upset with all of the staff at the Hilton Head airport. From the very beginning of my experience it was a disaster! I came to board a flight over one hour before takeoff. I checked my bags and because the tsa line was backed up I decided it stop at one of the chairs to wait for the line to shorten.a total of 10 minutes. . The TSA attendant assured me that no flights would leave due to the backup at security issues. “They will not leave until all of you board” is what he said. I waited in the bag security line which was backed up almost to the door. I was not in the TSA line but voiced my plane (HHH to ATL) was boarding soon only to be told they would hold the plane. I went through security and went to the Delta gate. Only to be told that the plane had shut it’s doors and would not be accepting any passengers. When I became upset, the delta representative told me that I was out of control (which I was not…just trying not to miss my plane). I asked to talk to her manager as the plane was still there. The manager at delta,was a nightmare. She was rude and made me feel I had did something wrong . She gave me one option to go to Savannah and get on Much later flight. Then the Beaufort Country Police came up to me and said for me to “shut up”. Not asking why I was upset. I told him the TSA person told me the plane would wait and he said and I quote “you can’t trust the TSA”. Ok. So who can you trust?? That’s a problem!!! I went outside and waited for my sons to pick me up. The Beaufort County Police guy came out and yelled at me for being upset (none of which I provided) and told me how wrong I was to “voice my option”. Thank you so much, sir, you confirmed my thoughts in the police in this country. Please don’t bully me. I was doing nothing wrong. You never asked me if he could help me. I’m sad. As a more than part time resident here I see now why most people go to the Savannah airport and do not try to use the Hilton Head Airport. I will never step foot in that airport again. And will continue to spread the word that the Hilton Head Airport is not worth anyone’s time….or money"

"The gate agents are always friendly and helpful . The small airport is an advantage too. The delightful young lady in the snack shop is wonderful. Nicole is such an asset to the airport"

"We got in line for TSA approximately 1hr 30 minutes before our flight boarding. We watched for over 1 hour as TSA pre-check would skip in line, only allowing 1 party for every 5 pre-check parties to advance. We had to make complaints to both TSA and the airline desk and skip the rest of the line in order to make our flight. TSA pre-check made this airport unfair we will never be using this airport over Savannah again"

"Quiet and nice airport, definitely gives you island airport vibes with the way the baggage is handled, both taken and given. The attendants were super nice and TSA check is really quick, so you don't need to spend too much time waiting. The airport is also very small so you're definitely not going to get lost!"

"Under construction which is understandable to where things are a bit disorganized. TSA is rough! They are very business, will not make eye contact, would not respond when saying thank you etc. Sad thats how things are. American check in was easy and and getting through the whole process with screening was about 20 minutes. Very small airport with limited seating."
