"Took a city tour and met at the Visitor Center. Very nice place to meet. Pay parking was in front of the center or at public parking at the building to the right of the center."
"Very nice visiting center. It was decorated really nice. Very festive. Great location if you're doing a tour the pickups are usually there. One of the best visiting centers I've been to."
"This place is beautiful. I have traveled extensively and this is one of the best visitor’s centers I have ever come across. If I remember correctly, this is an old train station. You can see all of the original style today looking at it. It is not hard to imagine what it look like years ago. In the years since I have lived here, they have renovated the inside and they also add it a parking garage nearby. Because parking is sometimes very hard to fine. This parking garage that is nearby makes it very convenient to take the shuttle which is free to everyone in the downtown area. I had been living here almost 10 years before I knew this. Inside the building is plenty of seating. Lots of people come here just to rest in between siteseeing and the museum across the street all of the tour buses drop off in this area right up under the overhang which makes it extremely convenient. The restrooms are clean and open to the public. This is very important because it’s hard to find restaurants in this area if you are not near a restaurant. Extremely kid friendly. The children’s museum is within walking distance. There is an outside area for dogs. I did not see a fireplace. The Marketplace beside the building has many things that you may need if you’ve been walking for hours. It is also cool inside. I got there a little after four - they close at five. There were quite a few people behind the desks talking. They were talking so I’m not sure if they were the ones that assisted visitors or did something else completely . I wasn’t sure because because I haven’t been here in a long time. I walked around a little until closer to five. At that time one of the ladies walked over to me to tell me they were closed. #TTIP: start right here lat the visitor center. You can park your car , use the restroom or get something to eat as there are many restaurants in the area. Lots of accessible parking and seating on the inside. The free shuttle picks up here. One end of the visitors center is attached to a restaurant/Bistro type eating place. You’re also within walking distance of so many things you didn’t know you wanted to see."
"The Charleston visitor center and Geechee Gula tour was excellent. The two and a half hour bus tour was a great historic experience and I was so glad to be aboard. It was so much history I was so overwhelmed. It's much better in person."
"It was our first time in Charleston, so we stopped by the visitor center. It was a hot summer day, and the air conditioning felt incredible. Paid parking is conveniently located right across the street. The restrooms are clean. And the guy at the front desk was super helpful, answering our questions and sharing insights about what we should see."
