"I needed to get my second dose of the vaccine to return to work after being sick with COVID for over a month. My first shot was at the end of October so they told me that I was past the limit to receive it. I tried to inform them that I was so delayed in getting my shot because I got sick before I could get it and after quarantining and taking the time to recover it was already 2 months later. There was a young woman at the computer and an older gentleman next to her who I assumed to be the person who would be giving me the dose. Mind you, I called ahead of time and even took a cab to them because I NEEDED the dose to return to work. After handing them my vax card and insurance, the older man pretty much refused to give it to me, claiming that I was not within the parameters to receive it. The CDC recommends you get the shots within a certain timeframe but literally nowhere does it say that you can’t get it if you don’t receive it within that period. Not to mention my doctor said it was okay. He did not want to hear what I was saying and I was being extremely patient considering all the time I wasted for them to just turn me away based off of an opinion. He only offered me the option to start over with a completely different vaccine and told me I would then have to wait 3 weeks before getting the second one. I had already missed so much work and couldnt afford to oblige, NYC is requiring all workers in my industry to be fully vaccinated. I left in tears. He was so unreasonable and even when I tried to show him that I was still eligible for it through the CDC website he refused to even look at it or use the computer right in front of him to confirm for himself. It was so embarrassing trying to reason with this man in front of all those people. And in the end? I literally went across the street and the very nice and courteous people at Foster Maaz pharmacy actually listened to me when I spoke and understood why i was not within the recommended timeframe. They asked the right questions, showed concern, treated me with respect and consideration and they gave me the dose I was entitled to. The folks at Subhan should take a page out of their book."
