"It wasn't easy finding a top-notch competent, HONEST, fair, reasonable, accommodating, patient furniture refinisher/restorer on Long Island, but I found him -- T.J. at Peeper's Restoration! T.J. stripped and refinished a mid-century mahogany Henredon dining table and 3 leaves, stripped and refinished a mid-century mahogany Henredon sideboard, and repaired and deep-cleaned two vintage mahogany cabinets with beveled glass and tiny mother-of-pearl inlay accents (no stripping because we agreed it was important to retain the original finish and patina). All pieces had been living in a relative's home with heavy chain smokers since the 1960s and had years of build-up and an unappealing stench that was part smoke, part musty. Not only did T.J. lovingly pick up all the furniture and haul it out of this musty house, not only did he do a phenomenal job at rejuvenating all the pieces, bringing them back to their original glory and getting rid of over 60 years of stench, but he (and his conscientious assistant) lovingly delivered everything to my home and then, with the patience of saints, took the time to help my husband and me decide how to place / rearrange the furniture in our otherwise very cramped home in order to accommodate the new pieces. I have attached a photo of the dining table "in progress". You can see how damaged the leaf is... that's what the entire table looked like... in comparison to the work T.J. did. Can't recommend T.J. enough."
