Bayside Volkswagen - Service 31 Water Mill Lane, Great Neck, NY 11021

"We had a ridiculous experience recently at Bayside VW service that I feel obligated to share. We made a service appointment for 8am on Wednesday morning to address a warning light that came on in our Tiguan. When we made the appointment we advised them exactly why we were bringing in the vehicle. When we got there at 8 AM, the service advisor told us that, despite us having an appointment, our car would probably not even be seen by a technician for 2 days, and we needed to leave the car there for at least 2 days while they waited for a mechanic to have time to take the car into the shop. No one explained that at the time of making the reservation that the appointment was not for having our car looked at upon the day of the appointment, but instead it was an appointment to meet with the service advisor who knows nothing about what it would take to address the error message in our vehicle. Since the car needs to be seen by an actual technician in every case, they should be giving out appointments for days when their technicians are actually available. We have never experienced anything like this when dropping off a vehicle for repair. Judging from some of the other reviews about this service center, it is clear that communication is not their strong suit. There apparently is no respect for the customer’s time and the inconvenience of being without your vehicle for longer than would be necessary. We will never be going back to this VW dealer for service or purchase."

"Just finished some repair work at the northern blvd service department and it has really shown me how HORRENDOUS this service department location in (great neck) is in comparison. John K service advisor and the manager at this location should really go take some lessons on customer service skills from Marco and his team at Northern. I wil NEVER come back here. I am truly disgusted with their inability to return calls and how they cover for each others lies."

"EDITED TO ADD: the car was sitting in the service station parking lot without being checked at all. So manager- thanks for your useless response and for holding my car hostage for 3 days without the courtesy of a call. I’d leave less stars if I could. I dropped my car off Friday morning for a service appt. Only add on to the original appt was an oil change which they said was fine. They told me it may be held overnight but I’d get a call. Three days and 6 voicemails later I picked my car up without any work being done to it. The service rep apologized and said that they had been backed up but apparently a phone call is too much. Not only was this inconsiderate of my time, my families and the many people I had to inconvenience to get around for an entire weekend with two toddlers but it was a waste of my time. They had the nerve to ask if I’d like to schedule a car pick up “at my convenience” as if I didn’t leave an appt and arrive on time at my convenience only for them to inconvenience me and leave me wondering what was happening for three days. I guess the one star was earned since at the very least they didn’t claim to have done stuff and over charged me as many other reviewers have claimed."

"Service itself was great. They washed my car b4 they gave it back,which was nice, but someone stole about 7$ worth of quarters out of my ash tray. That's less than the price of a car wash but in all seriousness I felt violated. I told the manager he apologized but nothing came of it. Would've gave 5 stars if I wasn't Robbed!"
