"I have complained non stop about the living conditions I pay 1295$ a month and in advance! I pay for an updated apartment, 2 bedroom, I have a studio refrigerator, yet paying for full size, I have an air bnb upstairs that has caused nothing but chaos! I get told old property manager let her boyfriend rent several properties as air bnb and they are working on it! I HAVE MADE SO MANY COMPLAINTS, I GOT AN EMAIL.TELLING ME ESA CATS I PROVIDED PROOF OF (a month before i even moved in)THEY WILL NOW CHARGE ME FOR??? (ILLEGEAL) I CALLED OFFICE PROVIDED PROOF AND THAN WAS TOLD I WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY DEPOSIT FOR, YOU CANT CHARGE ME A DEPOSIT FOR ESA, it is illegal! There are 4 apts in my building and all others are now empty except the air bnb! My cats killed mice my first night here! I have been dealing with fruit flies since I moved in almost 4 months ago, the exterminator tells me its all the trash inside the basement, I had to have good credit score and make 3 times the rent to move in, yet these are the living conditions I have to deal with!"
"i’ve lived in two separate apartments here both have had a lot of issues. my 2 br had bed bugs that the landlord didn’t inform us about but she knew. my studio ( which is almost 1k!!!!) had roaches which are finally gone thank god ( after 7 months of me having to harass the office and city of rochester) it has been really hard to live here and it’s so expensive given all the issues there is. the apts can be cute but too many issues for the price. if you wanna live here make sure you ask everything that’s going on don’t let them move you in without being honest."
"The original review follows, see below for the edit: Management allows garbage on the stoops of the buildings, grounds and parking lots. Trash sits for extended periods of time. Drive by and see it on display. If you can see it, management can see it. They do not take action to tidy up. The complex has far too few parking spaces. You'll park in the street, be lucky to find a spot, and during a snow event, forget it. Maintenance is slow to non-existent, and causes safety issues through neglect. Lights in entry ways and on porches are out for extended periods of time, for example. This presents, at best, trip and fall hazards, at worst, physical safety hazards. Who wants to come home at night to pitch black hallways? Residents leave garbage in common areas such as the stoop of the building. Several buildings have a broken down chair, charcoal grill, overflowing garbage cans full of alcohol containers and bottles of booze on a side table for example. You can see this in Google street view. Management ignores the trash and broken chairs. Other buildings have their own flavor of garbage on the stoop or in the landscaping around it. For the rent they're charging, and the number of units, management should be able to police the ground for trash daily, and should clean up the stoops, and repair the lighting. Regular inspections of the common areas should occur, but clearly are not. For a few bucks more, you could rent somewhere that is more safe, has in-unit laundry, is well maintained, has sufficient parking. I'll gladly edit this review if I see a change in the maintenance routines. EDIT 9/27/23: Management DID in fact replace the lights in the hallway, upstairs and down, and on the front porch for the unit. This took place a few weeks after this review went up. I DID see an improvement in the garbage-in-front-of-the-building situation, but the broken chair and side table were there last I visited. This is an eyesore. But there is noticably less trash laying around. The parking situation has not improved. Our daughter who lives in the unit was unable to find parking in the lot adjoining their unit after coming home from work late in the evening, and had to walk quite a distance back to her unit in the dark, unlit, street. This is a safety issue."
"Moved in a few months ago and haven’t had any issues. Maintenance has came to take care of a few minor issues immediately and the neighbors are great. Not to mention the wonderful park for kids to enjoy. The property manager was amazing and sweet and answered all my questions before we signed our lease"
"I really enjoy my tour today of the property here at Southwest Commons! The manager Leah was very knowledgeable. She was friendly ,witty and her smile made me feel very comfortable and welcoming. The most important thing that matter to me was the quietness here in the neighborhood. I loved it guys. Gotta come check her out!"
