"I must let everyone know that Hill Apartment Management doesn't care for their residents, especially regarding maintenance. I have had ongoing issues with maintenance since November 2023, and there are no updates. Hill deleted the work order from the portal and has yet to respond to our calls/emails, and neither provides a repair or replacement. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Students already have stress from their studies and college life while they are far away from their homes, and here at The Hill, they do not even care. I will sue them."
"I’ve lived here for 2 years and I’ve had a great experience! I started in a 4 bedroom with some friends and recently moved into a 1 bedroom and both apartments have been good quality. Having an in-unit washer/dryer and dishwasher makes life so much easier. Sure there are some issues here and there, but that’s to be expected at any apartment complex and the staff always seems to be trying to improve things and make living here an even better experience."
"Just because the we're college students, doesn't mean that we'll settle for poor conditions. We left dorms for a reason, not to experience the same conditions in a private apartment. It's preposterous how they raise rent when maintenance sometimes takes months, the main amenities like the pool and gym are in disrepair, our rooms have mold problems in corners and in bathroom fans, and we have zero way to contact higher management. The office staff are burnt out (the poor guys, we love them), and there's not enough office staff for the office to be open frequent enough to tend to resident needs. The dumpsters are overflowing, the wind blowing garbage everywhere and attracting pests. Our safety isn't cared for with doors able to easily be propped open, and we're even scared to order in packages since (due to the office being closed and the parcels not being able to be loaded into lockers) there's thefts. The Hill and Varsity Campus needs to get themselves in gear. Also, it's impossible to get in touch with upper management -- all messages and urgent concerns have been sent to the front office workers. The emergency phone number doesn't always work."
"PLEASE DONT LIVE HERE, The upper management does NOT care about its residents here! There’s a lot wrong with this place, I wish I listened to the bad reviews. Misleading and SCAM: 1 person apartments are awful compared to what they show on their site and tours. I was shown a beautiful clean space on the tour but when I moved in, I was met with a run-down and dirty apartment. My blinds are broken, the balcony door is broken, vents look like they haven’t been cleaned in decades and the floors were so dirty my mop was totally brown after just the kitchen. My father cut himself on nails sticking out of the wall (TWICE). They need to be showing what they are actually selling to people in 1 person apartments. For the amount they charge me ($1375/month), I would expect the same kind of quality they have in their main building, not to be cast aside like nothing. Even residents are talking about the horrible conditions in the discord… Laundry Rooms: These are just unbearablely disgusting. They say they clean them once a week and that is obviously not happening. Residents don’t know how to pick up their laundry in a timely manner. I saw someone’s laundry not picked up for more than 24 hours. Anytime I walk into the laundry room its just disgusting and/or full. Makes sense when they have only 2 washers and 2 dryers for 13 PEOPLE. Amenities: They have unclean (or lack of) amenities/property and the office being closed when it shouldn’t be. I have to wait 3+ days to get a package that was delivered on a friday at 1pm because they closed early and then had “unforeseen circumstances” on saturday, sunday they’re closed, labor day monday where they’re closed, and then closed AGAIN on tuesday. For maintenance, I’ve made 6 requests and only 1 of them was “completed.” In reality, they closed my request and did NOTHING. Not to mention the trash rooms are ALWAYS closed and I almost hurt myself throwing heavy garbage bags ~3 feet higher than I am to get it in the trash bins outside. Also the garbage bins can get very full and messy leaving TRASH EVERYWHERE. For snow, they close parts of the parking lot to plow the snow to, which would leave a lot of people having nowhere to park besides the guest lot that requires you to walk up/down a hill in icy cold weather… The only good thing this place has is their front desk staff, they are trying hard to keep this place up and are great people but this is on property owners and higher ups to fix this. Until then, DO NOT LIVE HERE PLEASE."
"I have to make a review on here because things have been getting really bad here at the hill. From garbage everywhere, especially tons of boxes blocking a fire exit on building 20, Amenities that are out of commission or are falling apart. For example, the gym, which there has been a giant leak in the ceiling, dirty equipment, and even a hole in the floor which all they have done is put a cone by for the past few months. Also tons of other fire hazards and things. I am paying a hefty price for rent here and do not have accessed to things I was promised. When I first moved in a year ago they advertised in unit laundry, which was not the case for my apartment, which no one told me until I moved in. Also, they did not even clean anything and I had to complain to get a cleaning crew to even come in. Also, my window has been broken for a year now and even after multiple times of management telling me it was being replaced, it never was. And these are just a few things that are wrong with this complex and the owner Varsity Campus. Please look somewhere else if you need housing."
