"Terrific drive along Ocean Parkway, passing all of the beaches heading east from the Loop Pkwy. 20 mile ride on a two lane beach road. The ride back on the bay side is equally peaceful. This is the former site of the Oak Beach Inn. Now a very small beach landing and a fishing pier. The beach landing is covered with course sand, medium stones and a lot of broken glass. Wear beach shoes or flip flops. Great kayak launch. Or a place to put a beach chair for an hour. Blankets not recommended. Windy. Across the water is Robert Moses State Park. And just a bit further East is Captree. The parking lot is free and hosts a Sunday vintage car gathering."
"It's more of a rest stop overlook of the ocean. It was once a very popular, multi-level night club/bar. Now, there are areas where you can just sit and enjoy the beautiful view. Boardwalks that extend out into the ocean, good for fishing. Nice size parking lot. Car shows in the nice weather!"
"On Sunday’s it’s a very cool meet up for classic/antique cars and motorcycles. This a great place to go for free if you love urban sketching. Bring a fold up chair a take a seat near any of the amazing cars or motorcycles to sketch and watercolor. There are also benches along the shoreline and it’s a quiet and peaceful place to just gaze at the ocean."
"6am Car show every Sunday"
"Great spot for the Sunday morning Cars & Coffee, but they really need to clean the beach. Lots of debris and glass."
