"During the shutdown it became my walking place. Either side of the reservoir is beautiful and peaceful. On the paved road is a short dead end walk (15-20 min) the boaters' unpaved road on the route next to and just past the Goldens bridge Train s. Access road, is a more vigorous walk, esp if you go past the easily passable (walking) gate. That walk, there and back to the main street, is close to 2 miles. But I won't lie, since bears and coyotes are populating I don't relax like I did 3 years ago (even though I have never seen one on the trail). There is no formal park here..no tix to purchase."
