Reviews of Labyrinth Trailhead
"Nice trail to tackle.. $35 day pass required and parking is located 2.2miles from the start of the Labyrinth trail. You can park at the house for closer access if u make breakfast/lunch/dinner reservations… but the food is not worth the $$$! The climb itself is a nice workout… don’t bring a big bag with you, some places are a tight squeeze! Took about 2 hrs to climb to the top… Coolidge be done in 1hr .. go all the way to the sky top tower and there is a path that is a 20 min hike back to the bottom!"
"Super cool hike. Be careful of claustrophobic inducing areas. Tight squeezes and tunnels. Really cool wooden ladders leading you through a 45 minute rock scramble. The climax of the hike is at the end which is a deep narrow crevice that you climb up with the help of ladders. Be VERY careful when it’s wet or raining. I would do this hike again it was so much fun."
"We made an online reservation, 35$ a person. The hike from the parking lot right past the guard house is about 2 miles to the Labyrinth trailhead. There is another 15$ per person parking lot at the Mohonk Spring Farm lot which adds an additional 2.5 total miles to the hike. Hiking gloves and hiking shoes are recommended. This scramble is not for out of shape, elderly or heavy set folks. I'm 5'8, 170, and squeezed out at the end of the trail. Sorry to be crude."
"A challenging rock scramble! So worth it! Best done with group of friends. Definitely a must when visiting Mohonk Mountain. The views are gorgeous all year round, but Autumn (October) is my favorite to take a romantic hike and enjoy the breathtaking views. Enjoy a scenic boat ride on the lake, to get a different perspective. Then, proceed to downtown New Paltz for some well deserved nourishment after a long an eventful day. Note: If attempting the lemon squeeze be prepared to be challenged on the ascent. Also, it is a good idea to attempt if in good shape. There is no turning back, some people have gotten stuck and have had to rely on other climbers to pull them up. Kids who are not afraid of heights can definitely do this trail. I recommend 1 adult per every child in the group. The views are rewarding and you can have a picnic once you reach the top."
