Reviews of Swallow Hollow Trail / Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge
"Very nice and clearly marked trail. I think it's only about 1 mile and goes in a loop. Most of it is on a raised walking platform. We really enjoyed listening to the audio recordings that are provided on the signs with QR codes."
"Very nice trails with QR codes that took you out to sound tracks of the visual items around the walking path."
"I finally made it to partake on an adventure at this amazing sanctuary! With literally three different types of habitats, it is true, the variety of wonderful fresh smells of nature greeted by an abundance of different birds, frogs, turtles, mammals and cool insects accompanied with so many amazing trees. The energy is clean and close, this is one of the closest places you'll get to open, untouched nature! An instant favorite I will be frequenting!"
"Great area. ADA accessible for boardwalk part. Off boardwalk can be done but more work involves. Loved the multiple benches to sit along the way to take breaks but to soak in the nature sounds"
"My family and I have been coming here for years. There is a walking path through the woods and around several wetland and pond areas. The trail is just over a mile long and used by walkers and joggers alike. Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature while walking through a beautiful tree covered canopy. We have seen many songbird species, turtles, deer and water fowl. Swallow Hollow also has a guided phone tour now. This is a great, hidden gem, worthy of a family outing. Picnic areas and grills located on east side of road, opposite the nature trail make it easy to spend hours away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Enjoy!"
