"Perfect for a winter stay. Stayed with a friend one Saturday while it was literally snowing outside. The pool, hot tub, and steam shower in the basement were perfect to warm up. The lobby had hot apple cider. Room service was quick with food from the iconic Lamb's Club. Plus the location made it super easy for our show that night, even in the slushy rain. There are other hotels that shine in the other seasons; but for the winter, you won't regret booking the Chatwal."
"I was there just before Christmas. Staff was so kind and helpful the entire five nights I was there. Loved the stylish rooms, and the bars are fantastic. Art deco meets modern appointments. Chef's kiss!"
"What a wonderful experience! We stayed there using an Amex Platinum Fine Hotels and Resorts promotion and our room was ready when we arrived to check-in early, which wasn't a problem, we simply left our bags and went out to attend a show. We arrived back at 4:30pm, and our room still wasn't ready. They offered to put us in 2 rooms, instead of the single room we'd booked for a family of 4, and stated they were "connected". When we got to the rooms, they were connected b/c they shared a wall, but weren't adjoining and each was a very small room with a double bed, whereas we were supposed to have 2 queen beds and a couch in our room, which we'd planned to have our youngest child sleep on. I went back down to the desk to let them know this wouldn't work as my kids weren't old enough to stay in a room alone, and the manager heard me at the front desk and came out and told them to upgrade us to the Chatwal Suite! It was 2 adjoining rooms with a balcony! The room far exceeded our expectations and made for a magical experience for my kids first trip to NYC!! It was the best trip we could have ever hoped for! We were there to celebrate my late father's birthday and we had such a wonderful experience at the hotel that it overshadowed any sadness of the day! The breakfast at the Lamb's Room was delicious! Oh, and the hotel smells absolutely divine, I am not the kind of person that would normally indulge buying a $100 candle, but it was worth every cent...I haven't even lit it yet, I just smell the box and that is heaven enough!! Spoil yourself with a stay at the Chatwal, I know we will be again soon!!"
"Enjoyed a fabulous Christmas at this special little hotel. Nestled in a quiet little nook off just off of Times Square, it's conveniently located and walkable to major attractions but feels shockingly private. The staff was incredible and went out of their way to accommodate for our needs as new parents. They ensured a super early check in and provided a crib, infant bath, and organic baby toiletries. We felt like royalty! Everyone knew our names when we arrived and greeted our baby by name in passing throughout the stay. Hats off to the bell service and valet, which was seamless despite the embarrassing amount of baby gear we toted along. We'd like to especially recognize Lydia's efforts at check-in and Michael K.'s efforts throughout the stay. Michael checked up on us several times, brought us extra cookies, and even laughed his way through a ridiculous hunt for a lost baby shoe. (Thank you, Michael, sincerely). We were nervous about staying in a hotel with a newborn, but The Chatwal was a home away from home. We will definitely be back next time! Last note: the food at The Lamb's Club (separate ownership) was incredible for both Christmas Eve brunch and Christmas dinner, especially the duck. Highly recommend The Long Room next door for its mouth watering sliders and surprisingly reasonably-priced beverages."
"This hotel’s a real gem. The staff makes you feel right at home, always ready with a smile. And the food? Out of this world. You can taste the quality in every bite. I’d tell any of my buddies looking for a solid place to stay, this is the one. Definitely gets my stamp of approval."
