"You would never know it from the outside but this little corner bodega has a full kitchen. I needed a bottle of water so I went in to grab one when I was hit with a host of delicious smells. Terribly curious I walked the long way around the shop to get the full overview. That’s when I saw a proper (in not just smaller) rotisserie with chickens roasting away. Just as I was taking this in the lady behind the counter brought forward empanadas. There was no way I was not getting an empanada as nothing beats a fresh empanada! The crust was light a crisp with a little hint of cooking grease (to be expected). The filling was chicken that was moist and delicious. The lesson…don’t judge a book by its cover and explore every bodega in your neighborhood because you never know what might be cooking inside."
