Sanctuary Hotel New York

"I had a fantastic stay at Sanctuary Hotel. The reception team's efficiency allowed for a hassle-free check-in, and the concierge service was top-notch. The hotel's cleanliness, cozy atmosphere, and quiet surroundings, coupled with well-provided amenities, make it worthy of a higher rating. I can't wait to revisit during my next trip to NYC. The central location is a definite plus, making it convenient for exploration."

"The service at this hotel punches above its weight. A bellman is always there and highly attentive. The front desk staff is very courteous. As is the concierge. For a Times Square room (i.e. small size and highly efficient), this room was frankly very well put together and designed for efficiency. You get a spacious closet and a bench as well. The bathroom is ok, no complaints. There are two drawbacks to the hotel: the rooms look over some piping and you can hear clearly when it rains outside, and the breakfast is totally underwhelming (boiled eggs in a plastic cup). The restaurants it's connected to are very, very expensive and didn't have the rating to match. There are far more flavorful restaurants in the area."

"Just off Times Square this is the perfect location. Really comfy bed and pillows. Friendly staff and good continental breakfast. Noteworthy is the very dark passages, for those with impaired vision. Also no in-room tea and coffee facility which isn't a massive problem as it's on Tap in the lobby."

"We just stayed at Sanctuary for a single night and were both pleasantly surprised and disappointed. The best parts of the hotel are its location (minutes walk from Times Square and Rockefeller Plaza) and its ambiance. It's definitely a chic and fancy hotel on the main level. You've got doormen, red velvet ropes, roaring fireplaces, red lights, and a gorgeous back hallway to the Sushi Lab elevator (also the elevator to the floor we were staying on.) We also had reservations at Sushi Lab, which was INCREDIBLE and so convenient. I feel like that was the main highlight of the hotel. When it came to our room, we were right next to the elevator and the entrance for Sushi Lab, so all evening we heard dinner guests talking and they could hear us. There's very little soundproofing. You also have to use your room card to turn on the heat or AC and our room key reader wasn't working, so our room was chilly the entire time. Lastly, expect an extra $25 charge when you arrive, just because. They'll put a $75 hold on your card for damages and then charge you just the $25 if you don't wreck anything. Overall, it's a gorgeous hotel with an incredible couple of rooftop restaurants that are not to be missed. You're a short walk from major attractions, as well. Just expect it to be a little janky, of course, because you're in the big city."

"We recently stayed at The Sanctuary, 1-9 Sept, the hotel is in a fantastic location (just near Times Square) and the staff were amazing. Cannot fault any member of staff from reception to cleaners, they couldn't do enough for us. Would recommend this hotel for a more personable service than the big chains. Very clean and tidy perfectly adequate for what we paid. If I had one criticism would be the breakfast was just ok, mainly bread choices, limited fruit. Having said that I could have done some more research before leaving and this took nothing away from the holiday. Like say the staff were the best and so professional."
