Reviews of Columbus Medical Arts
"horrible experience, I would not recommend this clinic to anybody. as other reviewers said, their only interest is to perform multiple unnecessary tests to bill your insurance. I scheduled an appointment with one of their specialists but was seen by a different physician who performed some tests related to my issues, offered me no treatment plan, and then directed me to an MA to schedule some follow-up tests. I had the afternoon off that day so I was able to stay for some of these tests. none of them were related to any of my complaints. they performed an EKG, ultrasounds, and other tests. my phone broke that morning so it wasn’t until I got home and checked my email that I saw they had scheduled me for 16 follow-up appointments for further testing, the last one being with the doctor I had initially scheduled the appointment with. I called them and canceled all the follow-ups as this so put me off. i went back a few days later to return a heart event monitor (unnecessary) and there was a man ahead of me complaining to the front desk staff that he had received a letter from his insurance approving tests that the doctor never informed of him. the staff was acting oblivious and kept dodging his questions. I was going to wait a few days to write up a review but this morning I received an email from them to let me know the results from all the tests, and that the physician I saw was recommending I schedule a follow-up with their cardiologist. naturally, I became anxious and thought they must have found something of concern. before calling them, I decided to log into the patient portal only to find that all of my test results were NORMAL. wait times are abysmal and the staff is extremely disorganized. there were multiple times when I would be in a test room with one medical professional and I would suddenly hear somebody else call my name outside in the hallway for a different test… I wouldn’t be surprised if all the positive reviews they have are faked by staff."
"Coming here as a patient was literally so traumatic and bad I can't even put into word a review. I wasn't going to leave one but the more I think of it the more I need too and warn other potential patients of this insurance mill, I wish I came to read reviews before making the appointment. With the exception of one of the guys at the front desk EVERYONE who works here is unprofessional, they curse in front of patients while gossiping and talking personal stuff to each other, bad mouth patients in front of other patients, say they want to quit, go home, hate their job, talk loudly in the open on customers insurance and medical problems. I came here for 3 months before I had enough, canceled all my appointments and changed my doctor. I unfortunately only stumbled on this place because they where the only place taking immediate appointments who took my insurance and j regret so bad I didn't go digging beforehand but I was desperate. Firstly they are a test mill to bill your insurance so you go for 1 thing and they want acknowledge or talk about it until you do 20 unrelated tests and they don't even let you see the Dr you book the original appointment with until well into a month later. They did an EKG on me FOUR times almost everytimr I went there, and tried doing it a FIFTH time which was why I stopped going there and finally made me snap. I flipped out and called the PA out on it and one of the morons at the front desk when I was trying yo leave and he was pushing it on me to go back down, they make you do the same stuff over and over and I don't know how they get away with repeatedly billing the insurance, they claim the ekg was blurry, she can't read it, it's not in the system. I went for a pelvic exam THREE times, the first time she had issues, the 2nd time she told me to come back another day when the other assistant was there because she was having problems with the machine and the third time i left and didn't do it, she was trying to get me after I went from Queens if I can come the next morning and I said no she asked why and what was I busy doing?????? Like the audacity, they'd make people go back every day if you would let them. At first I didn't think anything because I haven't been to the doctor in over 5 years I thought it was nice to get some medical attention even if it's not what I was there for. All the people doing sonograms are new and have no idea what they're doing, it's honestly a joke. They won't diagnose you with anything or talk to you about WHY you actually went there to begin with, they put you immediately to see their rheumatologist, pain specialist, allergist, cardiologist, physical therapy, sonograms all over, order 10,000 blood works and just keep ordering more test, so every appointment you have there's no resolution to anything it's never ending, just keel going back for more a d more test, most of them repeats, different blood tests, more of their Dr's on site that have nothing to do with why you went there. They billed my insurance for a sleep apnea test I never took, and who knows what else because they leave the descriptione blank of what they bill you for, most of the billing they do has NO DESCRIPTION. Watch your insurance. So I wasted 3 months, and aside from stress, a bunch of wasted time, my metrocard being refilled who knows with how much money and having my poor insurance defrauded, and dozens and dozens of visits I have absolutely no answers or resolution to anything, I have a new doctor in private practice whose amazing and the opposite of this joke of place, 2 visits only and solved all my problems and I'm getting the care I need for my original problem that I went for to begin with. Point of this ramble is stay away and just wait the extra time to begin with to go someplace else, all you'll get is wasted time, headache and your insurance defrauded and you'll be back to square one when all is said and done"
"On my initial visit, Joseph extended a warm welcome, and subsequently, Jada and Dr. De Silva attended to my needs. The entire experience was incredibly smooth and hassle-free! Each person I encountered displayed remarkable patience, kindness, and wisdom, precisely what I desired after enduring emotional and physical exhaustion from the constant transition between doctors. However, I must express a personal preference: I am not particularly fond of unintentionally overhearing staff engage in personal conversations or new staff training, and I get it, it’s a tight space but make sure to close the door or speak lower."
"First and foremost I want to say that the front desk staff are the best. I want to express my how greedy this medical clinic is as a business. They don’t care about patients health as long as you have to pay. I’ve been sick for 2 weeks experiencing, severe chest pain, body fatigue, sweats and everything. I went to the hospital prior to this appointment to ensure that get both care from the hospital and from my primary clinic. I’ve had these symptoms for going on 3 weeks. I show up to my appointment only to be told I can’t be seen over 15 dollars I don’t have at the moment. I was told to reschedule leaving me to feel like my health and wellness doesn’t matter if I don’t got the money. Go to a place that genuinely cares about your health rather than your business."
"This place is absolutely terrible. I did not realize it was a glorified clinic. I went because it was difficult to find someone on zocdoc that takes my insurance. I have since found plenty of doctors with my insurance. Really shady office. Waste of time. Long wait times to be seen by unprofessional providers that order unnecessary exams and can’t even explain why or what they’re for. No one introduces themselves or their titles. when they walk into the room, so I had no idea who I was speaking to. At my last appointment I waited almost TWO HOURS to be seen by Dr. Oweiss who was incredibly unprofessional. She did not look at my chart because they see patient after patient so she had no idea why I was there and was then looking at my information for the first time as I was sitting there. She talked a mile a minute, was incredibly intrusive and pushy. She pushed medication on me that was NOT necessary nor a first step in the treatment process of what I was there for. They are clearly getting kickbacks from the pharmaceutical companies. I will never ever ever ever go back. Don’t get sucked into their trap and do everything they tell you to do."
