"Had new zipper installed on popup camper panel. Very nice work."
"Cal promised to finish in a week, but did a great job on my cushions in two days. Could Not have been better customer service."
"Awesome job....went above n beyond....would of made Don Butler proud...."
"I called Cal the day before yesterday, after being referred by a friend. He promised to come the next day, and was there promptly at the time he promised, despite the snow storm overnight. My friend promised me that he would do a nice job, as he had done for her, and after seeing what he had done for her, I was interested enough to call. The man that came to see me was a different man than was portrayed in the previous reviews, and unfortunately those two were related in content. The first was from a woman that caught a heated exchange between the owner and a client that was unhappy about the timeliness of getting his seats back. The club owner obviously saw through the client's claims, as he probably was familiar with the upholstery guy, and would not get involved. So, please let me say. I do not know this guy other than the hour and a half that I spent with him yesterday, but I found him to be a pleasant man that is passionate about his work, and considering his passion, would defend his work to any ends. He was totally distressed that someone would and could take such an attack on his professionalism and person. I was in business for 34 years before becoming an RN, and consider myself an excellent judge of character, and see through situations such as these. I see a guy who likely DID verbally go after another guy that was attacking him for what he was so passionate about. His workmanship and his self esteem. I see a woman who did not understand the background behind the conflict, but rightfully was upset with what her children saw and heard. Understand that people make poor judgements when faced with a personal attack. I challenge the woman involved to put herself in the place of the shop owner and think of what she might say in the heat of passion. I challenge the car owner to understand the impact of an internet based attack on a shop owner that only knew that the job was not completed in the time promised. Perfect takes longer...and as I understand the car owner did not complain to the shop owner, but saved his rage for an internet attack. I am not going to make my judgement of this guy based upon the previous reviews. As of now, I have nothing but good to say, and promise that I will share the results of our interactions for all when the job is complete. I have been looking for a 1960 Galaxie or Fairlane for my entire life to replace my first car, and found the perfect car. It has a rust free body, and I have restored it to respectable condition. all there is left is for me to have the interior completed. I need a headliner, carpet, and seat upholstery, and this will be my guy. I feel so bad that others rely only upon internet reviews when they can say anything they want, substantiated or not, and when they can have such an impact on a man's livelihood with unkind words. For me, I believe in face value, and this shop owner has my vote. To be continued..."
"Took my seats with new pre-made covers to this guy because I needed them done in two weeks. He said he "should be able to get it done". I said worst case they can be a couple days late but I really need them in 2 weeks. He said Ok. The seats took over 3 months to be done and in the end I had to just leave a voicemail that said I am coming to pick up my seats. His customer service is terrible to non existent. He doesn't answer his phone, and he doesn't return phone calls if a voicemail is left. At one point he actually yelled at me for calling him to find out progress about a month and a half into him having my seats. He threatened me and told me to just come pick them up. I drove to his house to get them and he apologized and said he was just stressed and backed up and that he would get them done. Every week I would call and usually not get a hold of him, but when I did it was always another excuse. When he took the job on he told me he would steam seat foam and also add some new foam, which was not done. He also said he would "clean up" the seat frames with a wire brush and paint them. When I picked up the seats it was evident he rushed to get them done in the day and hours before my arrival....not only did he not clean and paint the seat frames but it was clear he just tried to paint them on the seats....there was over spray on the bottom of the seat foam. He also charged me the original agreed price and offered no discount or anything for the sub par job and also quoting 2 weeks and taking 3 months. In the end the only reason he did the seats was because I told him I was coming to pick them up and he didn't want to lose out on the cash. I will never go to his shop again, and I would not recommend to any of my friends or family to go either. He also leaves a Large dog in same garage he works on the vehicles with, beware of scratches."
