"The Health Hub is my favorite store in Lake Tupper. Local goods from a family farm, essential herbs and the kindest people in town (or so it seemed on our 4 day visit). The owner, I didn't catch her name, had good food, good info and was warm and welcoming. We made multiple stops in and noticed children practicing piano, violin and having a "Nascar" zucchini race (!). As a hiker, I'm excited to try out the hostel aspect ($25/night) to anchor visits for the 46ers. Definitely recommend as a place to visit and look forward to my return."
"I ate here again today and got all of my grocery shopping done. They provide in-season veggies, locally and regionally grown fruit as well as bulk oils, grains, popcorn, and seasonings/herbs. Additionally we fill our freezer with portioned/packed/frozen meats raised on the Whitten Farm. There’s always a variety of packaged snack foods such as chips, crackers and granola bars and more. I don’t shop elsewhere and we create so much less waste than the “big grocery store” which I’ve begun to think of more as “the plastic store”. The self-serve hot food bar and salad bar were, as always, scrumptious and soul filling. I and my three small children got from the hot food bar: fresh garden veggie minestrone soup, steamed broccoli, rice, Whitten farm raise pulled pork, chicken, sweet potatoes with almonds, and baked beans. At the salad bar I started with a bed of mixed greens topped with in-house created kale slaw, a more traditional coleslaw, red beet salad, hummus, fresh sliced and lightly pickled cucumbers, garbanzo bean salad, black bean and sweet potato salad and house oil and vinegar with fresh herb dressing. If you have not eaten here you’re missing out. If you’re buying your “organic” vegetables anywhere else you’re paying more. They do not compensate me to say this, I am just so thrilled with the quality and price of all their offerings. Not to mention the positive impact their goods and presence makes in the tri-lakes community and beyond. There’s no better feeling than shaking your farmers hand and seeing the smiles on their children’s faces and knowing that the sentiment is reciprocated."
"Affordable, delicious, healthy food for all diets in a laid back, hospitable setting. There was great music on Saturday night by Me Richard Hayes Phillips."
"Great food, definitely worth stopping by here for a 'home cooked meal'. My husband is a meat eater and I'm a vegetarian, they had something delicious for us both. Really nice people to talk with as well."
"The restaurant here served one of the best meals I've ever had. The chicken was certainly the best I've ever had. There wasn't a single thing at the buffet that wasn't top notch."
