"I can’t speak highly enough of Dr. Vanessa Spano and Dr. Amanda Modes. We work with our own trainer, and we have a regular vet. And on top of those two we have a behavior vet (Dr. Spano and then Dr. Modes) to help our two Aussies, Ellie and Emma. I would consider behavior vets as the top behavior consultants in NYC and experts in prescribing behavioral meds. They have such in depth knowledge of dog antidepressants that help my pups so much, and other regular vets don’t have that experience / blindly prescribe them. Highly recommend Behavior Vets!"
"I worked with Dr. Andrea Y Tu I couldn’t have been happier with our first appointment. I have seen 2 other veterinary behaviorist, and felt like I got more out of my one appointment with Dr. Andrea Y Tu than I did in my two year experience with the other veterinarian behaviorist. She is beyond knowledgeable and passionate. She listened to everything I had to say and explained everything in great detail. She made moose very comfortable at the office. The only visit I felt hope for my dog because of her great passion to help dogs feel comfortable and happy. I can’t recommend Dr. Andrea Y Tu enough if you are struggling with your dog this is the place for you."
"We have never had a better dog trainer than Claire Cario. She is so wonderful with our dog and has given him a great new outlook on life. She is kind, thoughtful, caring and our dog absolutely loves her. She has helped him a great deal with his anxiety and we would be lost without her in our small Brooklyn apartment. We can’t recommend her enough."
"We came to Behavior Vets of NYC for aggression problems with our younger dog. He suddenly became aggressive towards our oldest dog and it was becoming challenging to leave them in the same house. We had the pleasure of working with Rikke, and she was an absolute angel! Over the course of just a few sessions we saw immediate results. She had so many great training tips and fun games to work with our dog. Our dogs are now happily playing with one another, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. If anyone is on the fence about whether behavioral training will work, I strongly encourage you to try a few appointments with Rikke. She took genuine interest in our situation, and helped us find a training plan that worked for our home lives. Thank you Rikke for working with Zeus! You’ve given us peace and happiness in our home."
"I jokingly referred to my Behavior Vets sessions as “dog therapy” with friends, but truly after the first session with Claire, I cried tears of relief. Her calm and knowledgeable guidance helped build my confidence with my newly adopted, very shy, very anxious 5 year old dog Maude. She was dealing with a lot of urban anxiety and generalized stress, and I was struggling to help her. Together we learned practical tools to build confidence, counter condition, and have fun together. I feel so much more connected to Maude, and it’s through the work we learned from Claire. She is smart, committed, and funny. Sessions were fun and super helpful. Also, she brought delicious sardine treats and Maude is obsessed. Most importantly I learned how to give Maude the space and comfort to be herself. She is still shy and still nervous but I have a toolkit of games, commands, and protocols to help navigate and mitigate those moments. I recommend Claire and the Behavior Vets team to anyone looking to bond with their dog, regardless of behavior issues. Dog therapy for all people!"
